I reflexively planted ~50 Pumpkins at the beginning of Fall, and while I did forget to water my crops one day, it took until Day 15 for them to mature. They're advertised as taking 9 days to mature. The weird thing was, exactly one of them matured two days before. So I can't figure out if something weird is going on, or if they are actually supposed to take > 9 days to mature. Or if you lose several days of progression when you forget to water, which seems harshly punishing compared to the many other very forgiving mechanics of the game.

SIDE-NOTE: Devs, please add a feature where the camera shifts to the "Ground View" available from Decorate when you hold the Watering Can on the farm. I r

First off, the Remaster is incredible. So many interactions got serious buffs with characters not being so stiff as was the case in the base game.

So I decide to complete as much side-content as I can before going to Meridian when I stumbled into something brand new, after hundreds of hours across a dozen save files. When tracking down a Vintage Point near the Citadel -- a place Aloy is not supposed to go near due to story reasons -- (character reveal/minor plot spoiler): >!Sylens will ring her up on the Focus to say, "This was not how I intended to introduce myself to you... but if you go any closer to this place, bad guys are going to kill you". Paraphrasing a bit. Aloy responds with, "W

Brick isn't dead. Royce just stuffed him into a cell in-between those brightly lit lab areas on the way to his boss fight rather than killing him like I assumed he did!

Jackie made a comment about, "Hey, I know that guy! It's Brick!" Which caught my attention so I investigate, find a code to get him out -- and a detonator?! I've missed a lot apparently -- and he's like, "Thanks, choom. I'll help you out if I ever see you again."

I'm still working my way through NCPD missions and side-gigs cause I finally tried out Sandevistan and it's super fun, so I haven't seen him since. If he ever shows up. But I wasn't expecting the game to still have surprises in store for me! Preem stuff.

So I got my oil changed again recently and the place I go to asked me to start the car and rev the engine after doing their thing. Probably to check and make sure nothing is leaking? Except I can put my foot through the floor pressing on the gas and nothing at all will happen. I also tried remote start to see if that could force the engine to start but that also did nothing. Probably because the engine was already hot.

My question is: do y'all know of a trick or something to force the engine to rev when at a standstill? The oil change folks don't seem to mind letting me drive off after putting in an honest effort to complete their process but it happens every time I come through.

Thank y

So I was working my way through discovering/cooking all food recipes when I got to Pancakes. These require Maple Syrup, which was the first time I ever wanted to put a Tap on something that was not an Pine Tree. Not having any on my farm, I realized, "Wait, there's a bunch of naturally growing Maple Trees over by the Mines entrance! I'll just slap a Tap on one of those and call it a day."

And it worked! Whenever I happened to remember to actually check it -- by Year 3, I rarely even leave the Farm at all -- there was a Maple Syrup waiting for me. Hurrah, one more cooking recipe completed.

Fast forward to Autumn 2, when I again randomly remembered the Tap I had by the Mines. But much

So I recently started going in hard on Auto Chests as a way of automated production, instead of just hand-feeding everything like the good ole' Stardew Valley days. I had done some simple Compost setups, then switched to making Glass -- all worked beautifully as intended.

In Shed #2, I setup "chunks" of two combined Auto Chests interacting with one Keg and twelve Aging Barrels, and fed it with Osmium quality Strawberries and enough Strawberry Juice to "kick start" the process. Figured that if it takes 6 days to mature Juice into Wine and 1/2 a day to turn Fruits into Juices, one Keg running continuously should supply (6 * 2) Aging Barrels. Four "chunks" fit within a single row, Shed #2

I took the plunge with this game two weeks ago (pun absolutely intended) and have been binging it hard, friends. After 122.8 hours -- most spent at 50% Game Speed -- I caught and donated the Green Sawfish last night on Winter 5-ish Year 2 which was the last item necessary to complete the Fish Collection and fully restore the museum. Mines are explored; Ocean is clean; Lake Temple offerings all complete. The only things left are stuff like discover all cooking recipes (those damn Shallots...) and random stuff like ship one of every item.

And I friggin' loved every bit of this journey! Except maybe catching certain bugs that I resorted to building copious traps to eventually get -- no

"The hell does SDV have to do with Silksong???"

For those unawares: Stardew Valley is a hugely popular farming/life sim game made by just one guy, who's developer name is ConcernedApe. As of May 2022, it had sold 20 million copies. It practically defines the genre, to the point where people review other similar games in the context of, "How (dis)similar is this to SDV?" Even if they are more derivative of earlier pioneers such as Harvest Moon.

In 2020 -- almost four years ago now -- CA announced he was working on a new title, Haunted Chocolatier. As a fan of not just SDV but store shop-

I'm about 10 hours in (started with 7 from the demo), and I can see new areas inaccessible due to my current Approval Badge Rank (1).

My average day is grinding for more wood and stone and chatting up with the locals, but I've recently got a friend quest to gather stuff in one of the new areas.

So my question is... Without getting too spoliery, do I just... keeping playing like I am and eventually I'll be invited to improve my Badge? After a certain about of trust/patients are treated? Or is there someone I need to speak to or something I need to do to trigger that upgrade process?

Thank you in advance for any help offered!

Edit: Thank you to those who mentioned how they unlocked "the ne

This just occurred to me since I haven't picked up the game for about a week or so now (mostly cause of work). I could spend hours and hours grinding for god-tier weapons that turn into garbage after the next patch. Why subject myself to that repeated disappointment and frustration?

Let's go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for this "live beta testing" to blow over.
