I have an almost 3 month pit mix and she yaps that high pitched bark constantly if she isn’t getting attention. I’ve read all the books and watched all the training videos. I praise her for settling every single time she isn’t barking, whether she just randomly didn’t start barking immediately or if she stops barking. I always wait a few seconds to treat after the barking stops. Even still, after 2 straight weeks of being consistent, she still yaps. It’s not getting better. If anything, it’s worse because now she yaps in my face and then sits quietly for 5 seconds or so waiting for a treat. What am I doing wrong? Is there a different method I should try? I’ve heard the bark, quiet combo can
2 weeks ago we adopted a pit mix puppy, she’s now 12 weeks. The first week we had her she was pretty mellow, I think just from adjusting. Well this week she has some kind of issue with my preschooler. She is leashed with me most of the time, and when she’s not it’s because she’s gated into one single room with us. She is never not with me, so I know for a fact he isn’t doing anything wrong. I actually have a guess it’s due to his pants. She tends to go after my daughter too if she has loose pants or a dress on, but is fine if she’s in shorts or leggings.. only reason I’m not positive it’s pants is because sometimes she jumps on him and tries to nip his arm.
anyways, since this has started I
I want to start by saying I’m not proud of where we’re at currently. My baby is 9 months old and has never not contact slept. This is for naps and bedtime. At best, she’ll lay next to me for a short period before rolling to get contact.
She currently fights sleep like nobody’s business (she always has). Current schedule is wake at 8am, nap 10ish-11:30ish, 2nd nap 3-5, bedtime between 8 and 9. She wakes 2-3 times a night to eat.
I’m ready for her to sleep on her own and committed to doing the work. I’ve done a lot of reading and talked to her pediatrician and I’m leaning heavily towards Ferber method (but not against a different method). I’ve tried 2 nights and gave up because she just en
My 3 stepsons are flying over to see us and wondering if we have to pay the fee if we opt out of the service? The oldest is 17 and they do this flight with some regularity so genuinely he doesn’t need it. Haven’t decided yet for the 14 year old and will definitely do it (as required but also would anyway) for the 8 year old.
Last time they flew with Alaska their mom was told at the gate they HAD to pay it even for the then 16 year old. I didn’t think that was the case but wondering if I’m reading the website wrong?
I’ve seen several of these posts but not quite what I’m looking for… Each year our community will provide schools with grants and any teacher can write a proposal. There’s no set limit, and it’s just kinda a whatever works thing. Examples of past approved grants are flexible seating options, new books, educational games for a grade level, Osmo for STEM classes, etc. as you can seen it’s a wide range. I’m totally drawing a blank on if there’s anything I should suggest to my 3rd grade team to see if want to write a proposal for anything. Any ideas?
So in my school (elementary) we all have these big wheeled totes for students to carry lunch boxes to the cafeteria. They have recess right after lunch so they drop lunches in the tub then go to recess before coming back. The tubs we have are hard/awkward to pull and so LOUD. What do yall use? Any brilliant ideas?
I can’t remember if a little bit of diluted juice is okay for baby under a year old? My 8 month old is super constipated and miserable 😢 my pediatrician is closed for Memorial Day and this is clearly not an emergency situation but just trying to remember what I can give her to help
My daughter is 7 months old and we’re really struggling with daytime feedings. She’s awake plenty during the day, it’s not a sleepy issue or anything. She just is stuck in the habit of not eating much during the day and waking up to eat so often at night. During the day she only has about 10-15 ounces of formula, so just cutting out night feeds won’t work. Her pediatrician suggested solid food more frequently to sorta kickstart her appetite, and while she’s happy to eat solids it’s done nothing in terms of formula consumption. Anyone been through this before or have words of wisdom? My first two weren’t like this and the sleepless nights are getting to me 😥
My 7 month old literally screams if I set her down, it’s always been this way. I’ve gotten through it by setting her down for short increments and doing what I can. However I’m starting to notice now she’s not really meeting milestones simply because she won’t let me set her down (and when I do set her down she’s too mad to even try to do anything). I know all babies learn at their own pace and I’m not worried about her meeting milestones late or anything, I just want to make sure she has opportunities to practice those skills (pushing up into crawling positions, rolling over, sitting up, etc) but she won’t even get that far 😭 any advice is appreciated
My 4 year old just ate a part of a piece of pasta from 2 days ago he found on the counter 🤦♀️ obviously I made him spit it out but I’m sure he swallowed at least a little. All that stuff with old pasta causing brain eating bacteria is freaking me out.. do I need to actually worry?
It’s been a few years since I had a baby and can’t remember if there’s anything to avoid when feeding baby? I know the big ones like honey, popcorn, and such. But any random fruits or veg?
