I am considering buying a used mountain bike. My main concern is potential frame cracks in the carbon that could have been covered up or repaired.

Obviously I don’t want to buy a bike with a cracked frame at any point. Are there ways to find out if the frame has been cracked in the past, repaired, or covered up?

I am mainly a DH park rider. My last bike was a Whyte G-170 enduro machine.

However, with this new bike, I am looking for something just as capable shredding downhill tech, jumps, berms, but also has a playful side to it. I would like my bike to definitely be more DH/Gravity focused, but can also climb if need be, keep up in Moab, and find little bonus lines to jump off of on trails.

Like I said, a design for downhill, with a small playful side to it!

Do you guys have any recommendations? I am looking to buy 1 year used, with a ~$3,000-4,000 budget.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I recently moved into an apartment that has 360 degree exposure to Colorado's weather. It is a very old building, with thin walls, and thinner windows. A couple of my windows have already been upgraded to double pane from before I moved in. However, it is always a sauna or icebox in my place and A/C and heater effects dissipate quickly.

With the hot months around the corner, I would like to compose a solid argument with my lease management company to replace the remaining windows with double pane windows to combat the discomfort. What are some good strategies in approaching this conversation?

Thanks!

Based on my Google searching, the answers seem very low for such a high COL state, which is why I am turning to you guys here!

Recently got a 100k offer from a company in Hawaii for a mid level software engineer, and would like to get a good foundation for my salary negotiation range. I am spending the weekend preparing my negotiation strategies, and having this range would be very helpful.

If you guys could give me insight into your compensation packages (salaries, benefits, 401k matching, etc) that would be amazing! Thanks :)

Also, thanks in advance for all your replies! I’m out getting drunk in green, so I’ll reply tomorrow :)

I have been a software engineer for 3 years now. What I have noticed is my memory sucks. Sometimes I ask questions to my seniors about code that I wrote months before. It is embarrassing when I ask a question they respond with "didn't you code that <insert question I'm asking> couple months back?".

I've noticed the successful engineers around me tend to have amazing memory. They can remember every piece of code they've touched.

I am the opposite. I forget things constantly. I ask questions all the time about things I've touched, and worse, things I coded....

How do I improve on this aspect?
