What would you spend on an used 2018 Santa Cruz Nomad C XE in “excellent” condition?

I am looking for bikes in the 170/170 enduro class, made for DH park, but adaptable to trail riding.

Budget is around the 3k mark, with wiggle room. The seller is starting the bid at $3300.

Also open to other bike suggestions. Looking to buy used, unless some new bike can meet budget and has a good build spec.

Yt Capra and Canyon torque both start at about 3k new but other than those 2 I think you’re going to have to go used for a superenduro in your price range

Right, and I’m okay going used for sure. If it’s within a year off the release date, with a thorough inspection, I believe I’ll be able to get way more bike for the same price as something new.

Yup as long as you know what you’re looking at used is the way to go to get the most bang for your buck. My problem is I’m a pretty tall dude and it’s not always easy to find L and XL bikes used

I agree man! Seems like a good starting price. Here is what the blue book pulled up: https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/SearchListingDetail.aspx?id=3079768&make=818&model=93321

damnit thats a bronson not a nomad sorry

No problem, I looked it up myself. Seems okay price, but I’ve heard bbb can be pretty inaccurate at times. Any thoughts on that?

Its definitely not my sole resource for comparing prices, but its a good starting point. If i can get 2-3 price points on different sites (pinbike, craigslist, facebook, bbb) then i can make my own assessment of what i think its really worth. I rode the SC blur and the norco sight at MOAB and the sight felt a lot more comfortable and sendier. Not sure how the bronson would feel.

Check out the Vitus Sommet. $2800 for a carbon gx build. Otherwise buy used.

Those bikes go new for around 6k, so I'd say that's a pretty good deal as long as you inspect the bike for any frame damage. I'd still try to talk them down to like 3.3k if you can though.

Yeah actually it’s already at 3.3k. So it’s a steal. I’m going to see if I can talk them down. To 3.1

Good price if its as described. Offer $3000 and meet somewhere in the middle.

Nomad is a great park bike, and that's a good price.

I wouldn’t buy a Nomad. They climb like rubbish. Look for a Pibot Firebird or a Commencal Meta.

Fair enough. I’m mainly riding straight downhill, basically every weekend, with 1-2 MOAB Trips thrown in. So seeing I’m 90% downhill, I think I’ll stick with the aggressive enduros. Although I have considered the 150/150 class as well. Not sure yet. Need to demo some shit.

Both of the bikes I mentioned are very much enduro bikes. Pivot Firebird is 180/170. Meta is 170/160.

I've had both and prefer the Meta as it takes a coil shock better. The Firebird is lighter, though. Can't deny that.

Ahh cool. Good to know. I’ll look into it. Thanks.
