I have severe hereditary hearing loss. When I was a kid, I played on a Steinbach upright. It's been a good 20 years and I'm trying to get back into it. I got a basic not-too-fancy Alesis keyboard to fiddle with while I decide what to get next. I noticed the higher notes are making my hearing aids ring, and it's worse with headphones on. Just to clarify, there aren't any Bluetooth digital pianos that will send sound to my hearing aids? I don't usually have problems with music or television causing feedback... So was wondering if anyone else wears hearing aids and what they've found works

I'm sharing some tips as someone who had a post-op pelvic abscess.

Infections aren't usually preventable. You don't usually know why you got an infection either. But you can keep an eye out and catch them early, before permanent damage is done.

External infections - what to watch for: Redness, swelling, heat, lumps, fever.

Internal infections - what to watch for: fever, even low grade since you're likely taking tylenol and/or ibuprofen in some form. Foul smelling, brownish liquid discharge from the vagina - pelvic abscesses will usually drain out through the vagina. Discharge is usually a dark urine color and smells like puss. A deep, steady ache in your pelvis that prevents you from g

I had a total hysterectomy and endo excisions in May. Then had a UTI, followed immediately by a bad postop infection. The infection was in my pelvis, where the uterus used to be. Spent a week in the hospital and got a smorgasbord of antibiotics. After finishing them, I got a yeast infection. I took diflucan and it kept coming back a few days later. Finally after 3 rounds of Diflucan (x2 each round) we did a swab to confirm it was yeast, which it was. A fourth round of diflucan, then it came back. Got another swab and this time it wasn't yeast, it was BV. And had another UTI as well. Treated those, started vaginal estrogen along with some boric acid here and there.

A month later things sti

Just wanted to vent a bit. I'm turning 41 this week, in perimenopause for a couple of years. Now heading towards surgical menopause after a hysterectomy in May. July 5 I started a new way of eating on the advice of my surgeon/gynecologist. No ultraprocessed foods. No dairy because I'm allergic. So I cut out all the fake cheese I was eating, and replaced with avocado.

I got the whole household on board, we cleaned out the entire kitchen. The only time I'm eating ultraprocessed food now is when we eat out, which is about once a week. And even then I'm making a lot better choices than I used to (like in the past few weeks I've had sauce/cheese free street tacos, tuna sandwich, sushi).

I'm

Chocolate allergy

Newly Diagnosed

I found out last year that my lactose intolerance was actually a milk allergy, and a lot of stuff started to make sense. I've since completely eliminated any dairy from my diet.

For the last few months something that's ingested has been making me react. I actually got really close to anaphylaxis territory after eating a homemade granola bar. After the first bite, my face/lips started getting red and itchy, my mouth was burning, my tongue and throat were swelling. First time I ever felt the urge to hold onto an epipen, just in case.

So went to the allergist today, we did some more skin testing. It's chocolate - I'm allergic to cocoa. 😭 I've always had issues with chocolate but I figured t

I had a pelvic abscess after a hysterectomy last month and was given 7 different antibiotics. Macrobid, clindamycin, gentamycin, eravacyline, Rocephin, cefdinir, and flagyl. I was on the cefdinir and flagyl the longest, all the others were just for a few days. Was in the hospital a week.

I've had some really bad diarrhea this week. At first I thought maybe I didn't need the colace any more (was taking it most nights). So stopped the colace and diarrhea was still really bad 5 days later. It's been a lot worse in the mornings, sometimes by the evening I'm fine.

So went to the doc yesterday and they sent off the c diff test. PCR was positive, toxins A and B were negative (EIA). So n
