New to Garmin and getting into running. I’ve got a long way to go but my question is, if I do runs early, or run longer/better or shorter/worse than I expects, does it adjust? It seems like it should adjust. Or is me wanting to run longer really a bad idea and it knows it based on what it’s seeing, and I should listen to that to optimize the training?

Maybe in other words, how smart are the auto coach plans and the suggested workouts?

Also, super cool of you to build this sub. I came offer from the “I’m bored with pictures of watches” post lol. I FEEL THAT

New watch arrives tomorrow, I’m making the change from AW to Garmin. I found out how to import Garmin data from GC to AH, and have that set up. I was wondering if I could pull Apple data into Garmin, though, so I could use the new platform to view past trends against current in the same environment. And if possible, does doing so screw up the sync from GC to AH?

Sorry if this is confusing. Brand new to the Garmin environment.

This is an LG B9. I put a small broken spot in the lower right of screen several months back with my thumb when carrying it to mount here. It was small enough we could live with it for a second-life bedroom tv.

We had a pretty hard power flicker a few days ago and it started doing this. It worked one time, booting with a single green bar on the far right, and shut itself off after a few minutes. Since then it’s been booting like this, and turns back off before a true power up.

Not sure if this is anything worth trying to repair in the back or not. I know a screen replacement for this TV isn’t worth it by now. Just thought I’d check before shopping for a new one.

Kiosk hardware?

🛠️ DIY / Hardware

I’ve been using the phone app and desktop browser for a while and would like to add a family calendar and quick adjuster for anyone to use. I was hoping for something make-for-purpose, that would have like a charging cradle wall mount and could be removed to take with you if needed. I could be into a small-ish tablet size or a larger screen (assuming the larger is permanent mounted).

Are these all just reused old tablets and sticks running TV’s or are there some dedicated hardware modules out there?

I’m considering building a small pressure chamber for a submersible pump so I can use it to boost city water. Essentially mimick a well casing but not open to air. Need to be able to remove the top and pull the pump out. It’ll hold back city water pressure which for us is up to about 40-45 max where this will be.

I am between van stone / lap joint flanges for this and Victaulic coupling.

I’m not set on this design, still laying it out, but I can’t build an above grade pump house for this and being below grade risks plugs and freezing for ground water drains, and damaging a regular pump. See open to other ideas too

We had some chickens, the last of them recently died and/or moved to a different place. I built the coop with an easily cleanable fiberglass resin panel floor. So I figured… why deal with fumes and kids bumping it near the house, and try using the coop. Hosed it out, bleached it, and it is now where I’m running my first little silver cell.

I made the electrolyte at a final concentration of 120.8 g/L (my target was 120 so I think I did pretty good there). Haven’t balanced a chemistry equation since college so that was neat, trying to guesstimate where I’d land between concentrated nitric and dilute nitric equations for silver nitrate.

So stinkin cool. This will probably never be profitable,

I’m looking for options that use a single point battery backup system to back up my house. House has a 400a meter with 2x 200a panels, and 19.4 kW of IQ8M Enphase solar, currently line tap grid tied in Panel A.

Everything I’ve been able to find wants to route grid power THROUGH the device to the panel. The Sol-Arc 18K seems great, integrating solar, battery, and generator charging but it won’t seem to let me install it “on the side” through a backfeed breaker (and I’d expect to be able to do that using a generic automatic service disconnect and voltage sensing interlocks on the inverter).

I currently manually backfeed with a portable generator run to a junction box, parallel fed to manuall

I just need someone to let me know if I’m misunderstanding, or if I have it right. I currently have: utility meter (400a)- parallel feed to 2x 200a panels. Solar (WnPhase IQ8M based) is line-tied in panel A before the master breaker.

If I want to add battery backup I need automatic transfer. EnPhase does this with their System Controller 3G (for additional generator connection) and IQ Combiner 6C (current tech).

But I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to integrate this into a split phase service without duplicating at least the System Controller; one ahead of each 200A panel.

There HAS to be a better way, right?!

I decided to jump in and got 3 plants and planted them in a row planned for expansion. All Catawba grapes, 8 ft apart and 8 ft row spacing. Neither here nor there.

I need to sling up a trellis but posts are a ton of work and my ground is rooty and rocky still. I have t stakes and a driver already and I’m wondering if I could put up a t stake trellis and replace it with posts later if this works out, or could t stakes even be used permanently?

Are there attachments made for t stakes to spread wire for two-wire trellises, etc? I’ve only used them for fence wire before and those plastic adapters wouldn’t work at all. I could attach wire manually with wire twisted ties but spanning two top wir

Hey guys. I have need to move my current booster pump down in elevation, giving up my existing pump house. For reasons I won’t get into, I need to bury it.

Pump itself is about 34 inches long, it’ll have to be in a flow sleeve, contain electrical splices, and have, probably, some flex hose connections unless I get creative and can poly pipe it directly.

Has to get it deep enough to get below frost, and ideally have an insulated lid. Heat tracing without a dry outlet is kind of a non option, can’t guarantee great drainage if it suddenly leaks.

What vault boxes do you guys see for this kind of thing? What would you put at your own house?
