Whether this is your very first Garmin watch, or you're a Fenix veteran upgrading to the latest generation, here's a rundown on what you should do right out of the box to get yourself up and running!

  1. Plug it in. Give it a full charge! I know you're anxious to get this thing set up, but this watch only ships with around 50% charge level and Garmin always recommends a full charge to 100% right away.
  2. You can continue the setup while it's charging. When you plug it in, it will probably power itself on; if it doesn't, then go ahead and press that top-left "Light" button to turn it on.
  3. Select your language, then follow the rest of the prompts to pair it with your phone and the Garmin Co

New to Garmin and getting into running. I’ve got a long way to go but my question is, if I do runs early, or run longer/better or shorter/worse than I expects, does it adjust? It seems like it should adjust. Or is me wanting to run longer really a bad idea and it knows it based on what it’s seeing, and I should listen to that to optimize the training?

Maybe in other words, how smart are the auto coach plans and the suggested workouts?

Also, super cool of you to build this sub. I came offer from the “I’m bored with pictures of watches” post lol. I FEEL THAT

Hi everyone, and nice to discover this new place !

I’m facing an issue with my Garmin Fenix 9 Pro Solar (running the latest firmware).

After some running, the Aerobic and Anaerobic Training Effect scores are completely missing, both on the and inside the Garmin Connect app.

Usually, it works perfectly, but for some of them, the lines/scores just aren't there at all (not even showing 0.0, just completely gone from the UI), I only have the load.

I use the Standard run profile. The HR graph looks completely solid and continuous on the app, no obvious blank spots or drops..

Pacing/Route: I had to stop a few times at red lights, which caused my pace to drop abruptly while waiting.

Has anyo

I got Caffi coffee tracking app and Night sky atlas star map. Do you have any recommendations on apps that you have found useful? Im using a Fenix 7pro. Thanks.

Caffi app is really nice in helping me visualise the amount of caffeine in my blood.
I have not yet tested the star map because it has been raining all weekend.

Hi, I have a Fenix 6 Pro (sorry!). I still struggle with accurate sleep tracking. My understanding is that if you get up in the middle of the night it may reset. Since I do wake up quite frequently in the middle of the night even though I went to sleep (and slept) at 9:30 p.m. It may "erase" that and restart at say 1:00 am if I was up for awhile. There must be a way to manage this but I can't find it. Thanks (and thanks for this sub).

There have been numerous reports of excessive battery drain in new Fenix 9 watches. It's possible this is due to a software bug and is not fixable until Garmin releases a software update, however these are some things you should be checking to make sure it's not related to your settings:

  1. Configure your sleep mode (with its corresponding DND mode and battery saver options during sleep hours)
  2. Set your brightness/backlight setting to the lowest setting you can tolerate, and adjust the timeout.
  3. Check PulseOX settings - all day mode drains battery fast, sleep only mode is a little better but still drains it fast. I prefer to just leave it always off unless I want to take a manual readin

We're all familiar with the plethora of Garmin product forums and subreddits. We're probably also all familiar with what 99% of the posts in those places are about:

  • Complaining... my battery life sucks, this bug still isn't fixed!
  • Bragging... check out my 100 sleep score, look at my new VO2, check out my new watch!
  • Relentless questions about the same thing over and over again... which watch should I get, does this look too big for my wrist?
  • Spam... Look at my new watchface I made!
  • Other crap we don't want to see... does this rash on my wrist look normal?

This is a place for users of Garmin devices to share tips, tricks, and tutorials for how to get the most out of our Garmin wat

I'm experiencing something new wirh my FR255.

For run, treadmill and walk exercises I set an an alarm for every 500 meters.

the first 500 goes well, my alarm vibrates and sound and everything seems normal, but then my watch keep vibrating and sounding for every 2 or 3 seconds and the distance goes to the ceiling. after 15 seconds after I reached my first 500 meters my FR 255 says I've walked more than 2500 meters!!!

I did a factory but nothing 🙂‍↕️

has anyone experienced this behavior?

any idea?

I recently got a Garmin Fenix 8 and I'm still figuring it all out. Let me know if you have any favorite resources to learn about what this device can do!

Some questions I have after using it for a bit:

  • Is there a setting somewhere that can help me calibrate what the watch thinks is my stopped time? When I used to track hikes in Gaia directly from my phone it would reflect pretty accurately my moving versus stopped time. On Garmin, it thinks I am stopped way more. My guess is it is when I'm going slow on uphills and downhills. Is there any way to fix this? Because of this issue my moving speed is artificially high and my moving time is artificially low.
  • When I'm hiking I like to toggle
