  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:

Ideally <£500 but understand that may not be possible, absolute max of say £700

  • Are you open to refurbs/used?

Very much so

  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?

Performance first and foremost then build quality also quite important, battery would be nice but it will mostly be used plugged in, user replaceable battery would be great, form factor not important at all within reason.

  • How important is weight and thinness to you?

Not at all really

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent,

Already have the PSU and GPU, just included for completeness.

Use is mainly CAD with Fusion 360 with some light gaming, will likely upgrade the GPU in the not too distant future.

Does this look ok to all of your expert eyes? Very open to suggestions to either reduce cost for the same performance/increase performance for the same cost as well as general suggestions regarding the mobo/memory/storage/case as I know little to nothing about them:

CPU: Fairly locked in on the 12700; single core performance is key for fusion, the additional cores will be useful for faster rendering

MOBO: 2.5Gbps ethernet, ideally USB C p

Hello all,

£600 budget though I am relatively flexible

Windows 10 (not a fan of 11 but again not a deal breaker) but I can sort this out after the fact so doesn't need to be included in the budget.

I have KBM and monitors already though they're certainly not the best - omit from budget unless it's part of a deal or something.

Currently have an old HP z400 workstation that I have cobbled into a semi-usable rig but I think I've about reached the limit in terms of upgrading. Components I'd prefer to keep if possible are:

  • GTX 970 - More than capable for Fusion 360, don't really play too many graphically intensive games so it's been fine thus far
  • CX750 power supply - I

First off, apologies if this isn’t the best place to ask.

I have an HP z400 workstation that I’d like to install an ssd in as my boot drive. As the board doesn’t support SATA 3 natively I understand I’d need to use PCIe.

A person in this thread appears to have had success using a PCIe SATA control board. I have found what I assume to be the same thing here - am I correct in thinking this will work?

Assuming it would work (and I have the mounting screws and a 2.5-3

So I've removed all my private data from the shortcut so that y'all can try it out but be warned it is by no means user friendly.

First thing you need to do is head over to https://darksky.net/dev and sign up for a free account. You get 1000 requests per day for free. Find your API key and paste it in the text box in the shortcut.

Next thing you'll need is the icons you want to use and a place you can access them. If any of you have any idea what you're doing you might be able to just draw the icons as vectors within the HTML but I do not and barely managed to cobble together this. So I searched for some icon packs on Google and found this http://adamwhitcroft.com/climacons/ (full props

iPhone 5s 9.3.3 if it's relevant.

I have searched high and low; I assume it would be fairly straightforward using a custom command but I cannot find much to go on. pbcopy and pbpaste seemed promising but I couldn't find any way to apply them to the currently selected text. I'm basically trying to replicate the cut/copy/paste commands from SwipeExpander but accessible from outside the stock keyboard as I almost exclusively use gboard now. Any help or pointers on further reading would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've been out of the game for some time but I used to use it on a near daily basis. My Google Fu and Reddit Fu have apparently dwindled in their efficacy in that time too because I can't find a shred of evidence that this even existed.

As far as I recall it was a fairly plain website but had everything from Windows and OSX to various versions of android and iOS as well as some common software like iTunes and Chrome. Please help, I'm losing my mind.

Edit: I just found "Zen Internet Virtual Applications" - it's very similar to this but had a wider range of systems

Edit 2: Found it yay, https://www.chasms.com thanks all the same

Hello and thanks in advance.

I'm in the process of setting up a coke/coal forge and unfortunately the building it will be situated in prevents us from going straight up. I have previously used forges with passive extraction with various bends and horizontal sections and, while they do work once the fire gets going, they are a nightmare before everything heats up. We had originally intended to do something like this https://imgur.com/a/1QhC06Y with a vertical section up to a horizontal piece with a blower pushing air through on one end (on the left in the linked image)

However, after some research, predominantly from this guide www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/hsg258.pdf it seems that it is bet

So I have been using an eGo One Mega tank with 0.5 Ti coils on an iStick Pico for quite some time now but coils have gone from difficult to find to impossible so am going to need to get a new tank.

I have tried a number of other tanks over the years but nothing seems to taste or feel quite right but I'm not entirely sure why. I'm definitely a MTL vaper, so I imagine that has something to do with it, but I've tried the Kanger Subtank (I think that's what it's called, came in the Subox kit) as well as the Melo 3 Mini (again, came with the Pico kit) and some Kanger squanker(?) but none of them have behaved or tasted anything as nice as the eGo imo.

So in brief, I'm looking for recommendatio

I'm going to order some stuff to hand out in my town. It's bitterly cold at the moment so I figured thermal socks, gloves and sleeping bags would be a good place to start, but does anyone have any ideas as to what would be more beneficial? Also, I don't have much to spend, and would like to help as many people as possible, so if anyone knows anywhere I can pick up quality items in bulk please let me know too. I'm in the UK.

Thanks in advance.

(Also if anyone knows a better sub to post this to, let me know)
