I have "PocketBook 634 Verse Pro" and prefer to keep it offline 100% of time. Once in a while it shows me popup nag message about WiFi and how cool the device will be with it. It's easy to dismiss, but is there some way to prevent this nag from showing?

Please, no further spoilers. I've just started to read the book (about 20%). It's a treat, and I am having a blast! But I have not the best imagination, and wanted to find some illustrations. When I've googled her name, Google just dropped her surname on me with the result on Wiki. They say it will be revealed much further in books. I will be extra cautious from now on. But am I robbed myself?

Blown away by the top row and have discovered charming Julia Hamari. But what about you? Does anything looks familiar? Have some recommendations? Bonus Jacqueline du Pre photo, because the flash hurted her.

Hi! I have saved some money and starting to panic about prices. My PC is Intel i9 9900k / 32 GB DDR4 / RTX 3090. I play singleplayer games on 4K/144 monitor and my favorite one is "Cyberpunk 2077". I am happy with what I have, but want path tracing and modern DLSS with 60+ FPS. I see two routes:

  1. RTX 5080.

  2. New motherboard + AMD 9800X3D + 64 GB DDR5.

But are both wrong? RTX 5080 is cool, but I doubt it will give me what I want with 9900K, and beyond DLSS it's not that great upgrade. New CPU is cool (also, you know, literally), but at the best case it will add bunch of FPS (notice 4K) and fix 0,1% and 1% fluctations, feels more like a foundation for RTX 6xxx future.

So, what are your

My scheme: PC USB ->Topping DX5 II as DAC -> Line Out -> 2xRCA cable -> Line In -> FiiO K7 BT as amplifier -> Headphones.

With Line In input volume jumps from barelly audiable and kinda noisy sound between off and 9:30 position of the knob to the moderate volume after 9:30. I know FiiO noticing something at FAQ: https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/838229.html

But I have output before 9:30 (just very quiet and noisy) and don't have this jump when FiiO K7 BT works as DAC/AMP with USB input: off->9:30 sector is silent and after 9:30 volume progression is natural.

Does anyone have idea what's going on? My theory: between off and 9:30 I hear line in signa

I am starting to rip my CD collection and trying to build solid strategy how to name folders and files.

My scheme is: album_artist/album_artist - original_year - album_name (year, country, media, label, catalog_number, format)/disc_number_1_digit - track_number_2_digits - artist - title.flac

Example: /media/external/music/Helen Merrill/Helen Merrill - 1955 - Helen Merrill (2011, JP, CD, EmArcy, UCCU-6006, FLACs)/1 - 01 - Helen Merrill - Don't Explain.flac

Disc number goes to filename even if it's only one for consistency naming, if I will want to process them later with some script. I do not have interest in classical music. Do you see any weak points with that scheme? Some ad

I've bought a used CD jewel with a strange cut through on the top right side (see other pictures for macro). It was made on purpose, cover art on the side is not ruined, and I can't figure out why? Do you have any clue what is this cut?

I've finished Act II two days ago, and now I feel my free-roaming across the world as a post-game. I am loosing the grip. Like everything is clear, and all I had to do is to grind before final fights. Please, without spoilers, just say me I know nothing about what's happening.

Hi people! I have been living my happy life with Creative Sound BlasterX G6 as DAC/AMP and Sennheiser HD 650 headphones. Recently I've decided to try something else, so I've bought Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO MKII 30 Ohms.

I am pleased with experience, enjoying this bright and brittle sound. This success moves my hand to the wallet and asks: maybe it's time to upgrade DAC/AMP? Sanity check is not applicable, because G6 has enough power for these headphones. But more power will open new horizons for me. I seek for neutral sound, big serious box on my desk with big and convinient knob (G6's knob is not), buttons and balanced output (maybe for HD 650 experiments). I wish for options to connect CD

Sorry, I live under the rock and have missed "TLoU". With recent "TLoU 2" controversy I've simply spoiled the whole story of both games and... just have no interest in it. But after "Days Gone" I want some TPS with top notch visuals in green concrete jungles and "Manhunt"-tier level of brutality. Gunplay, gore, mobility. Yay! Should I play them? Both games, or jump right into "TLoU 2"?
