I'm planning my second transition to Linux, but this time specifically for gaming. Previously I had been using Linux only for work purposes that involved documentation and such things, but now I want to try a new build and learn new things from scratch so that I can use Linux as my primary OS.

I got a new ASUS FX505 laptop before Christmas and have been using it since, haven't installed Linux on it yet but I will now. My hardware specs are:

CPU - AMD R5 3550H
RAM - 8GB
GPU - Nvidia GTX 1650
SSD - 500GB

My main games are Brawlhalla, Stardew Valley, Jump King, some emulated games on Citra and Melo

I hope this sort of post is allowed, I really need help from people who know a lot more than me on how mods work.

According to the benchmarks, GTX 1660 Ti is generally better and should work well down the line compared to RX 580, but my concern is regarding Skyrim SSE and mods. I'm not sure which one fares better with mods.

Need to decide a GPU that will go with the following setup:

  • R5 3600
  • 16GB RAM (8GBx2) DDR4-3200Mhz
  • 1080p 144Hz

I won't be installing everything 4k except just a couple of them, and I'm not into realistic graphic mods anyway, just want to make this old game look modern at stable frame rates.

If it matters, other games that I will play are TES III and IV with mods

So my old device - Honor 7X got bricked a couple of days ago. Got it checked at my local shop and yeah it's pretty much dead for good. Enjoyed some decently laggy spoofing for over a year.

I'm looking to buy a new device now, only for spoofing and some minimal browsing. Thinking of Mi or Moto, I don't want to spend any more than $150 (a few more bucks is fine).

Can you guys suggest something good that has proper root support and stable custom ROMs?

Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

Hey guys, absolute newbie here as you can tell from the title, I'm quite used to my laptop but lately I've started to feel the limits of it. I have never built a PC before but I do want to learn and try to build one by myself.

Presently, I'm using a 4-year old Lenovo G50-80. I pretty much use it as a CPU since I have a separate monitor, keyboard, mouse and a set of speakers. I have a different laptop for when I'm traveling, so portability is nothing to worry about.

Max budget - 60k

Location - Gujarat/Would prefer to buy online

Purpose - I'm a freelance writer, so I don't really need an extremely powerful build for my trade, but I do want to play games like Skyrim (modded), GTA V, Subnau

I want to farm candies in NYC by using the pokemap. Is it safe to farm candies using the location feature in the overlay when the game is open?
I just want to teleport short distances while respecting the cooldown.

Or should I close the game > insert location > teleport > open the game and continue to repeat that even when I want to jump locations that are 2 mins apart?
