Drove past the former Second Cup location at Brant and Fairview and noticed the giant "Starbucks coming soon" banner... disappointed that the landlord gave Second Cup the boot in favour of the American big brand. Hope I'm not alone in never setting foot in the location...

Hey folks,
I’m in Ontario and looking to make the most of grants through the Canada greener homes initiative. One thing I’d like to do is add some insulation to the basement slab, which currently just has carpet directly on top of the concrete.
I was hoping to use the Dricore R+ subfloor system, but I see that to qualify for the grant it specifies a minimum R3.5. The dricore product is rated at R2.7… seems crazy to me - I don’t see much in the way of better solutions available.
Anyone have any experience with the grant system? Thoughts on what I can do to qualify for the grant, without taking up too much more of my already short basement ceiling heights?
Hi friends,
Hoping for some compatibility help beyond what the checker provides. My current setup has a heat pump for heating and cooling, and also controls an electric furnace as another heat source.
The existing thermostat wires:
W1
Y1
G
R
Jumper
24V(c)
O
RS1
RS2
RS+V
Looking at my air handler, the grey, blue, and purple wires (RS: 1, 2, & +V respectively) connect to what I believe is a sensor. At the furnace there are terminals for R,Y,G,W1, (a jumper from W1 to W2),O, and C which wires correspond with the logical terminals at my thermostat.
Thoughts?
This year, a new rule came into force which requires a player to replace his helmet immediately or get off the ice, should his helmet fall off during play.
We have since seen players deliberately removing their opponents' helmets, in an attempt to gain a brief advantage on the ice. Commentators and analysts have remarked on it - the New York Islanders noted as particular culprits. Tonight we saw Coleman do the same to Gallagher, who split his scalp open on the ice in the ensuing scrum. Why on earth aren't 10 minute misconducts being handed out for this? It's the definition of unsportsmanlike - literally abusing a rule intended to enhance player safety to gain a competitive advantage, an
Curious for recent home purchasers - what kind of variable rates have you been able to get lately? Best offer I have at the moment is 1.55% on an uninsured mortgage. I'm working through applications at a few other banks, but was hoping to get an idea of how that stacks up.

open.spotify.com/track/5xnvLKP7MFnT0ocuVxGif8...Ok, long shot but here goes: for all you Canadian music lovers out there, I'm sure you'll recall the CBC radio program Brave New Waves. Well, I had a cassette (yes cassette) compilation of the best songs from each week.
Well, I've lost the cassette and for the last decade I've been trying to remember to songs in particular. And I just found one of them on Spotify!!! Sharkey's Night by Laurie Anderson, with spoken lyrics by William S. Burroughs. So knowing that the song is from 1984, I figure I'm looking for a week in 1984 (maybe 1985).
I found a playlist archive online but it only goes back as far as 1997. Since I don't have anything more to describe the other song (beyond that it
I've been trying to change my address with my CRA account for months. Every time I select the option in my login, it says the page is down.
I've tried calling several times to change my address, however every time I call it tells me the queue is full and hangs up on me - I can't even attempt to wait on hold for multiple hours it just hangs up. I'm getting so frustrated. For what it's worth, my account was not identified as one of those which was compromised.
Do I really need to change my address before I can file? I'm still residing in the same province.
Edit: I got through! My advice to others having difficulty - don't follow the prompts to the personal information section in
Hi PFC,
Hoping for some advice/discussion on the next steps. I have maxed out my TFSA and RRSP is full to the point of interest for me (going to use HBP but would like to save future contribution room for higher earning years/if kiddos come into the picture down the road).
Where is best to continue saving? I am tentatively thinking this fall to purchase a home, but it'll really depend what happens with the real estate market I guess. Is the best advice to just keep stashing it in a regular savings account? I don't relish the idea of paying tax on meager interest rates but it is what it is I guess (I've got 1.2%).
This is the part which stinks for getting into this market lol
