I've been running a Tesla P40 24GB for almost 2 years. It's been great for fitting larger models, but it's becoming painfully slow for modern LLMs.
I'm looking for:
- 32GB VRAM preferred
- Good Linux support (I'm running a headless Ubuntu server)
- Mainly for local coding models (Qwen, DeepSeek, Kimi, etc.)
- The best balance of speed, VRAM, and value
I'm considering:
- Intel Arc Pro B70 32GB
- AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 32GB
- Other suggestions (budget is around $1,300)
For those who upgraded from a P40, what did you choose, and how much of a real-world performance improvement did you see?
Would you buy a B70, an R9700, or something else today?
I used to own a Samsung Odyssey G9 (2021) and honestly loved it for about a year or two. Eventually I sold it because I ran into some issues in certain games, like the HUD being pushed too far to the sides or the image feeling stretched.
After that, I switched to a 32" 4K monitor (Gigabyte MU32), and I’ve been enjoying it so far. But lately I’ve been thinking about trying an ultrawide again, this time 21:9 instead of going back to 32:9.
My main concern is whether a 34" ultrawide will feel like a downgrade since I’m now used to a 32" screen. I’ve been looking into different sizes like 34" and 39". From what I’ve read, image quality can drop as the screen gets bigger because of lower PPI, un
I have an AD5M as my first 3D printer, and I've built an enclosed kit along with a Bentobox. Should I make a recirculating air duct, like in this link, or isn't it necessary due to the Bentobox?
Hey all, I’m running into some strange Moonlight issues on my ROG Ally (2023 model) and can’t seem to find a clean fix.
On Windows with Moonlight:
- The controller mapping is totally wrong.
- Pressing A acts like Start/Pause,
- LB registers as RB,
- and several other buttons are mismapped.
But on my UM760 Slim, Moonlight works perfectly with the same Sunshine setup — controller and K/M all behave normally.
To rule out Sunshine, I stopped the Sunshine service and tried Apollo Server, and I get the same incorrect controller mapping, so it doesn’t look like a Sunshine issue.
On SteamOS (dual-boot) on the Ally:
- Controller mapping is perfect,
- BUT the touchscreen doesn’t work at all insi
I purchased my washer less than 2 years ago, and recently encountered a H20 error message. Additionally, I noticed that fabric softener was not dispensing from the drawer tray. After taking the drawer apart to inspect for clogs or blockages, everything appeared fine.
I ran several tests using the diagnostic codes in test mode. During these tests, all water functions were working properly, including the water supply for the fabric softener dispenser. Despite this, I decided to replace the water valve, but this change did not resolve the issue.
One thing I noticed is that the washer stopped at rinse stage but it ran fine a stage earlier such as wash. Should I replace the main board or look a
I'm trying to understand how OpenSense works with port forwarding.
I opened a port (25565) for my Minecraft server and it's not working when I try accessing it using <public ip>:25565 while on a local LAN network. However, I am able to join by using the <server ip>:25565 via LAN.
When I'm connected via a mobile hotspot, accessing it with <public ip>:25565 works perfectly. Why won't it work correctly from within my local LAN? I'd like to test the external IP from within the LAN in case external access gets lost.

Hi I know this topic is common but Im wondering if my iGPU struggles on multiple HEVC transcoding? I had 3 HEVC transcoding (4k to 4k) and 1 4k to 1080p transcoding sessions last night and it caused a lot of buffering on all 4 sessions. Is it caused by HEVC transcoding that gives hard time on iGPU?
Im thinking to get a dedicated card but Im hesitant to get Intel or Nvidia brand. I understand that Intel supports AV1 for cheaper price but does it have good driver for Linux? I already have a GTX 1070 in the box but I dont know if it is not sufficient for my scenario?
My parity drive suddenly failed after increasing "reported uncorrect" and it automatically disabled the drive by itself. I ordered a new drive to replace it..
Question is.. Is it ok to continue my primary NAS while parity is not exist for while (till the new drive arrives)? I also have a secondary NAS server so I can turn it on to run as primary and shuts down the primary server. Im not sure which approach is best..
For replacing the dying drive, can I just swap the drive and run the rebuild? I asked because its my first time to replace the parity drive not regular disk (1,2,3,etc).
Thanks :)
