Winter

Rant

Where I live it is winter.
Can I just say how hard it is to lose weight in winter! I feel like I’ve lost no weight since mid winter has hit, I was doing SO well.

The food noise is really bad too! I try to stop eating 3 hours before bed time and find that time the hardest!

I went to Asia for a holiday spending summer there and the warmth made me less hungry, plus added so many steps and healthy Japanese food.

I just find coming home to winter weather in Aus so darn hard to lose weight!

I hope this is allowed…

I am travelling to Japan soon and I have heard Uniqlo and Muji is a lot cheaper there than in Aus or that there’s certain types of clothing lines you can get there but not here like special Onitsuka Tigers. I have heard ASICS and Hoka a lot cheaper than in Aus but similar models.

Just going to ask if anyone has been to Japan and bought clothes that are better quality or rarer styles they are keen to share? I want to grasp some ideas and not feel completely overwhelmed there.

A friend has mentioned that their pharmacies stock 400 denier stockings that are really high quality. But nothing beats clothes like Country Rd and designers like Zimmermann here. If anyone has

Japan holiday

[lifestyle]

Hi guys

After minimalising my life like mad and moving house, I’m going to Japan travel with my family this year as a birthday celebration. How do I resist the urge to buy stuff again that trickles back into our cupboard and shelves!?

I plan to buy Kit Kats, face masks, green tea, Japanese socks as souvenir gifts for friends and families. Maybe Japanese alcohol and some makeup. Knowing well they don’t clog up their space.

I am worried I will buy so much from Disney, all the kawaii culture things, all the soft toys, keychains, stationery, erasers.

Any tips about Japan specifically!? And with kids too! For such a zen country they sure are good at their marketing!!

Did anyone get any Royal Pops in Sydney at Pitt St? What colour did you get if you were lucky enough to purchase?

Friend lining up said it was once again so busy!

Also where do you get the lanyards if sold out too???

Let’s support each other through perimenopause because I celebrated my 4th decade this week! I feel overnight not only did my age change but my body, mind and spirit! Oh boy and did my gut health change too what a challenge that has been this week.

Had a great birthday bash and I am forever grateful for all my family and friends. In true fashion nearly everyone left to be in bed by eleven. Some with much younger kids in bed by ten! And apparently by your 70s in bed by seven- and they tell me sleep is much worse! True story everyone is older than me and sleep is such a priority. What a topic!

Spent the whole time alternating between sore feet due to swelling, bloating in my tummy because I

The wind is terrible for our eyes

Postdiagnosis vent/questions

I used to love windy days.
Now windy days just make my eyes suffer in discomfort.

Is everyone just acting like cyclops with sunglasses all the time now?

How is everyone managing on windy days?

Hi I have a 40th coming up

My body is not the same as my 20s and 30s. I’ve gone from a size 10 to now a true 14. I don’t think I can drop a dress size before the event because hello peri menopause.

Can someone give me some inspiration and tell me what you wore !? Even better if you have a link. Currently I am eyeing some items from Zimmerman but the price tag has me a bit floored still. I’m still grateful that they do size 14 clothes because many designers don’t. Please give me some brands and inspiration and even better if Australian. Thanks!

I’ll start first I was formally diagnosed at age 38

But I “Really” think I had it from age 16 due to really bad Raynaud’s and chilblains. I also had high ESR which bogus doctors never went further because I was 19 and young back then!

Anyway fast forward to now so far just managing with busy motherhood life dry eyes and dry mouth seem to be on and off. I just had a viral cold and four weeks later still congested- the effects of viruses really linger longer for sure. It was an eye doctor who suggested I see a rheumatologist “it’s very common in females from age 30”, acting like she’s seen 10 that day, but thanks to her I got a rheumatologist to diagnose me.

It was only because I had cosme

Hi! Funnily enough woke up at 1am thought great I’ll fall back asleep …nope been up for close to three hours… too tired to get out of bed ….too awake to fall back to sleep. Slept around 10pm.

This is the new bed rotting version of the 40s. There I’ve said it! One more month until I’m 40 and gosh I can really feel this age more than anything.

Can’t wait to hear the Gen Z will do when they get to our Millennial stage in life. We are all not okay. All the school parents are older than me- they’re all faking it to they make it. Are all the women above my age who are working parents all faking their energy levels? How do women in corporate or high energy jobs do this !?

I have decided watchin

Due to nearly all my friends adhd-ing and bombing out I’m now left to go on my own.

I’m alright with it but feel weirded out as I’ve always done things with friends eg wait in lines, toilet lines, stand and sing together, commute together. This is new territory for me. Funnily enough I’m more scared of walking back to public transport on my own.

For those who have been to Laneway alone to see Chapell Roan- how did you manage and any tips?

I think I have depresso after N2 Melb and so glad I filmed some parts because I’m just watching them over and over again. It was already a 11/10 until the last song “How Bad Do You Want Me” and that hit me at 20/10 and I just wanted to cry as I did not want it to end. To see her face as her true self without any makeup and costumes too that was just epic.

Saw that there were final tickets still being released in Brisbane and nearly tempted to fly and go again, except had to go back to my reality of working life.

Re-watching the MTV awards too has helped relive it too. There will never be another concert as good as Sat night and I went to her last concert in Aus. Also heard many say Sat ni

I was diagnosed this year with over two years of very dry eyes. What doesn’t help is that I live in a dry climate area.

This week we went from super cold dry weather to super hot windy dry weather. My eyes and even my throat have been really affected so I’m now resorted to eye wipes as well as drops, and lozenges at work (I need to a lot at work so it doesn’t help sometimes).

I try and steer clear from too much dairy as that can dry my throat up too.

What weather is worse for your body? Dry heat or dry cold??
