I've been working on this game for a few months, and was really enjoying it. I am proud to say that it is written entirely in Python using Kivy! Kivy has been my favorite GUI framework in python to date.

However I couldn't find more playtesters and got burnt out. The game generally works but really needs more content and love. Fast forward two months and I'm open sourcing it, if only to hopefully inspire others.

This post goes out to anyone who is trying hard but feels "bad" at this game. TL;DR - I'm here to tell you this game is much more "difficult" than it looks. Rather, it is a story generator by design and not a trial of skill.

It's no secret I tryhard way too much, especially when it's not appropriate xD If you're anything like me, you will be min-maxing anything and everything possible in this game while spending most of your play time reading the wiki or in-game stats. While I don't believe I'm among the best in the world by any means - I'm no slouch either. I have close to 1000 hours in this game (virtually all in vanilla) - also this isn't my first colony m

The latest in my series of 0.17 blueprints, I present a Kovarex enrichment design. Basically a bunch of combinators determine how much uranium should be on the belt (I think this is what some call sushi?). Every inserter that places or removes from the belt is accounted for, so when you produce enough U-235 to pass the threshold it will start removing them from the belt. This design is indifferent to the number of centrifuges or the modules/beacons being used, you can simply add and remove to fit the size and scale that you want.

I constantly hear people vilifying roundabouts like they are sent from the devil. And it seems that it usually boils down to "you can crash into yourself" (which is not relevant to me in 0.17 with the new temporary stops, I never manually drive my trains). I've heard conflicting opinions on loops and their effects on UPS and I'm really doubting the veracity of such claims. Since I don't know much about the topic, I would love to tap the hivemind.

What are all the disadvantages of using roundabouts and loops? When you answer please be as specific and explanatory as you can - I promise I will read every word.

Been seeing some talk on loading 4 blue belts per wagon (notably in my last post here on cargo wagon loaders) and decided to show one way to load and unload 4 fully compressed blue belts per wagon. Some of you may recognize the design concept it's based on, as it was referred to it in my last post. I don't have any use for this myself as I don't require such density so it's more of a proof of concept not a proper blueprint (you may add your own buffers etc). Loader is ugly and neither loader/unloader is very compact. Here it is regardless.

If I were to spend more time on it I would try to make the loader more compact. You can theoretically use only 2 inserters to fill the ch

I've watched a documentary on Quantum Mechanics and they mention an experiment inspired by Bell in the 70's used to determine "who was right" between Einstein and Bohr regarding quantum entanglement - and it concludes that quantum entanglement is as bizarre and unintuitive as suspected - it is indeed "spooky action at a distance". But they didn't mention what the experiment is and what it proves. After some searching I think they were talking about the CHSH inequality, but couldn't find any simple explanation. Hence title question.

I hope I understood what I was watching at least...

Wanted to share my Prismata story, and circlejerk a bit while I'm at it.

I'm not a new player, I don't "need" the campaign or much of the single player content at all really. But I've been looking to support Prismata for a while (hopefully without cash) besides praising it and getting a cute Prismata shirt (literally my favorite shirt). But as of late I've started spending more money on games and being locked out of episode 2 gave me that final push. I bought the grand centurion tier and I had to tell someone.

I first learned of Prismata in 2014-ish. I don't even remember what brought me over (probably the kickstarter but I don't really remember). While I didn't consider myself good enough
