I've got a game of Spearhead next week and I'll be fielding the Castelite Company for the first time.

I've seen the changes which make it now be 2 units of 5 steelhelms. And the Cavaliers now have "reinforcements".

What's the up to date consensus on tactics with this group? Stick the cannon in a corner and screen it with steelhelms? Is the Cannonball profile on it too swingy and I should stick to grapeshot?

Should the general ever be used aggressively or keep him back to buff the steelhelms?

What units are people using in Kroot lists to hold their home objective? I've been using a unit of 10 carnivores, but I'm thinking they might be better used in the mid-field.

I was thinking of using a Long-gun Lone Spear with a group of hounds instead.

I'm planning for a long weekend up in North Wales around the end of April, driving up on Thursday evening then home late on Sunday.

Current thoughts for each day are:

Friday - Take advantage of it being a weekday and hopefully quieter going up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). I haven't been up before but I've spent a lot of time in the Brecons and Dartmoor. Would the Pyg track be a good choice?

Saturday - Tempted by the Carnedd Dafydd & Carnedd Llewelyn loop. Hoping this will be quieter than any of the "main" peaks on a Saturday?

Sunday - I like the look of the Nantle Ridge, but I need it to be a circular route. Are there any circular options that don't require just backtracking along the same path

So I had my first game of 40k the other day, 1000pts against my mate's Eldar.

First turn I stuck my Ghostkeel onto the fairly exposed central objective and it did a great job shrugging off incoming damage. The problem came when it got charged by his Voidscarred Corsairs. They were having a really hard time putting any damage onto it, it's just so tanky. However the Corsairs controlled the objective through weight of numbers as the Ghostkeel only has an OC of 3.

What could I have done to take the objective back again? I can't shoot into combat and my Ghostkeel, whilst tanky, wasn't going to clear it in melee. Should I have charged another unit in there to get the OC advantage? Feels bad to

It's going to be another cold one tomorrow and my wife and I will be out and about. Any recommendations for pubs with cosy fires for lunch? Preferably south of the river.
