I'm researching local detergents and I'm finding ingredients I'm unfamiliar with. Google turns up wikipedia pages not pertaining to detergents specifically. Some I found:

  • Polycarboxylates
  • Zeolites
  • Phosphonates
  • Citral
  • Citronellol
  • Coumarin
  • Terpineol
  • Limonene
  • Amyl Salicylate
  • Tetramethyl Acetyloctahydronaphthalnenes
  • Butyiphenyl
  • methyipropional
  • Benzyl salicylate
  • Geraniol
  • Linalool

So I just got a jug of persil liquid to get max surfactant power as per advice here after my last thread.

I almost always do a pre-wash cycle for my laundry, and with powder detergent that's never been a problem. However, with liquid it seems like the detergent in both compartments goes into the drum the second I pour it. I even confirmed this by taking out the detergent drawer and seeing where the green liquid goes, it combines into one compartment underneath. This means that selecting a pre-wash cycle leaves my laundry without detergent for the main wash.

I'm wondering how everyone else is doing it - do I just wash the clothes twice without a spin the first time? Seems kinda inconvenient

Now with febu covering all the important enzymes, I find myself not looking for detergents with DNase or even lipase. My main concern is now surfactants, I want the best surfactant package (regardless of price, since deals could be found all the time).

Went through a financial review recently and thought I'd share my experience since Amex seems to be doing these bi-yearly now.

Every year around this time my expenses double or triple due to summer shopping + summer home renovations/maintenance. This year was no different, I put 3x my monthly average across personal and business cards. Still, the monthly spending was around 2.2% of my stated yearly income (or 26.8% of my monthly income)

On July 22end 2p.m. E.T., I got a call from Amex financial review team, and right as I picked up I get 18 e-mail notifications at once stating that each of my cards is now disabled on Apple Pay. Why 18? I guess for each of my 9 cards across two apple device

Frustratingly, nearly all detergents here (Saudi Arabia) list "enzymes" in the ingredient list without listing which specific ones are used. Tried reaching out to multiple brands via email and social media asking about the enzymes and I'm met with either silence or a "we don't know" every time.

Would love to see if others here from the gulf states have any luck. I'm considering importing something like a febu and just using the local tide but it feels like such a waste of money.

Not sure why I called it strat. But basically I'm having trouble finding something with both DNAse and oxygen bleach. Is it a good idea to have them in that order? and if so, will the DNAse have enough time to do its thing in the pre-wash cycle? Or is combining them is the better option? My DNAse detergent is liquid and my oxygen bleach is powder
