Some pithy background like on recipes that may or may not be useful for this post:

I was just reading an article about Star Command, from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and Toy Story movie franchise fame.

Across various articles describing the functions of Star Command, it is described as having seemingly 1. a police peace-keeping force, 2. some sort of military function, and 3. is described as a "para-military."

This immediately reminded me, a weird nerd, of the Nazi SS who I understand to share, to varying degrees, all three of those descriptors.

I wanna thank the man in black himself ferg, all you nice redditors out there for being so pleasant and mild, and most importantly Reddit Inc. for implementing an automatic enrollment process for new redditors when they rolled out the redesign -- thereby heaping untold thousands of news subs onto the community.
