I'm looking for a a figurative 1 or 2 word expression for 'obliviously'. 'Blindly ' doesn't quite cover it and seems cliché.

While on a walk a couple were so evolved in conversation they rudely took more than their share of the path. I said they were "obliviously solving the world's problems." The phrase was clumsy to say.

Any ideas?

I'm looking for a smaller bike for local runs and like the look of the scrambler. Can I get some feedback on Ducati Scrambler reliability and performance? I've been on Kawasakis sport and sport tourer. I'm interested in something different.

Thanks in advance

Removing nuts

Structural Analysis/Design

As a GC, we are removing nuts from embedded anchors placed in 1962. The are designed to be reused.

My steel crew said the trick is dry ice. Is this a known practice?

What damage could this do?

I live on the East Coast of South FL. This time of year the land of DeSantis grows by 1/3 with snow birds (I'm an import here year round). I'm seeing an unreasonable amount of attention and downright stupid thinking about a Haitian refugee influx.

DeSantis reportedly sent a bunch State Troopers and National Guard to South Fl and the Keys to gather the wave of refugees. In fiscal year 2022-23 the US Coast Guard reported a little over 7k Haitian were repatriated. That's the entire East Coast (I'd guess most in FL) but it seems a bit staged. In reality, I'm all for posting service men and women in the Keys. They deserve it.

I got a robocall last night from the local sheriff. It was a warnin

There's an old Grateful Dead sticker I like to slap on on the back of my motorcycle luggage (saddlebag to some). After a few months the stickers I've found all fade.

Do they make a uv resistant sticker or a uv resistant spray to protect them?

Our house is 6 years old, 850 SF footprint with a loft in S Florida. It's wood frame with closed cell foam insulation on walls, floors and roof. Mini-splits (4x) for cooling, heating and dehumidifier. One is on dehumidifier almost full time. Outside air is introduced with a Broan mixing box an hour or so a day and we go in and out all the time. Temp stays around 77° F with RH averaging around 55%, maybe a bit lower.

SO complains that when we come back after leaving the house for a few hours "it smells like drywall". Personally I don't smell it but my olfactory never has been too sharp.

What is she smelling? What are the possible causes for this odor?

Side note: I chose mini_splits to e

Riding 7" from the midday sun in S Fl. On a regular route I pulled away on a green arrow to a left hand turn (accelerating lightly to load the rear wheel). About 2/3 of the way through the rear wheel let go a bit. It was a 'huh' moment. It caught and there was no problem, just a mild wtf.

I can only guess I hit a tar patch but I didn't see anything (I like to think I'm watching my line).

Is this a high heat road hazard? Can hot asphalt slip away under load while cornering?

Have you hit this?
