Hello all, new Tundra owner here. I am in need of a truck cover that I can use with one of those gas transfer tanks. I don’t know if they make a lower profile transfer tank I could still use a truck cover with or not.
I was hoping I could get one that would go up near my rear windshield but have it recessed a bit or bolted to the frame, then have a roll up bed cover fit over it. Any ideas?
NSFW: Animal died in my yard
Home sick last few days. Let dogs out today and realized there was a cat that was hurt in my backyard. Quickly got the dogs away and called animal control. Unfortunately the cat passed away while waiting on them. It was in bad shape, probably for the best.
Time for the preps: apparently they don’t take deceased animals off your hands anymore, and instruct you to either cremate, bury, or double bag and put it in the trash…. I looked at the cat, and the animal control specialist, let out a big sigh and went and got my heavy duty thick contractor trash bags, a jug of bleach, and some gloves. I’m too sick to dig a hole in the summer heat.
I feel like I bleached
One month ago we were hit with a tornado. As of today, things are mostly back to normal in our new home.
Cash (paper or in savings) really is the biggest prep. I had a reasonable amount, as well as an unused high credit limit. I lucked up and had some stock vest at an opportune time which was nice too.
I’ve repurchased 70% of our losses )credit cards and cash), as well as the first/last/security/pet fees for our new home (cash only) I would recommend keeping at least 10k in liquid assets at the bare minimum. Preferred 4-8 months salary.
Biggest thing that would have helped me during all this was a truck, more tarps, and day laborers. I have the numbers of some that operate in the area n
I’m a minimalist to an extent. I accumulated more than I wanted to over the last few years, but my place was still incredibly clean.
Tornado hit the house we were renting last week so we lost a large portion of our stuff. On the plus side, I do have insurance. So I should be coming into a nice chunk of change shortly that will help me rebuild and buy some higher end things.
We were home for the disaster which has changed my mindset on a lot of things. In a good way.
My home was hit with a tornado so I can only use superchargers right now. It’s costing me a fortune with all the driving around I’m doing.
Are there any programs to help out vehicle owners help reduce this cost when displaced for a natural disaster?
I lost my roof to a tornado and I focused on saving other items and not my food storage. I have loads of num 10 cans and canned goods.
The house has been 90F degrees in the day, 80%+ humidity for 4 days. They were in metal cabinets so it's mostly moisture that's the issue. I can see the labels sta45ijg to look bumpy and saturated. No rust on cans yet..I'm sure this extreme heat will ruin their shelf life.
My renters insurance is only going to cover $250 in food. Is there a way to get long term food stores classified as personal property? This is obviously not the normal definition of regular food.
Sadly the house I was renting suffered the direct path of a low grade Tornado and lost it's roof and caused alot of water damage.
I have renters insurance for personal property damage. Insurance claims guy has me working on my documentation for my claim. I am in the process of gathering receipts for what is ruined and lucky for me I buy everything online. I am going over my last 5 years of receipts from every single site I order from. I have over 300 receipts right now.
Does anyone have any tips to not let the insurance company screw me over? I have been taking tons of photos, my house was on the news from multiple outlets with top down and street level shots. How much do I need to defend
