I just experienced what has to be one of the most embarrassing travel moments of my life.

After spending a week in Iceland, I woke up in a complete panic convinced we’d overslept and missed our flight home. I threw on clothes, woke my travel companion, packed at lightning speed, checked out of the hotel, and rushed toward Keflavík Airport.
A few minutes into the drive, we looked at the time and realized… our flight wasn’t for another 12 hours.

The nearly 22 hours of daylight had completely messed with our sense of time. We somehow convinced ourselves it was the next morning when it was actually the evening before.

We sheepishly turned around, went back to the hotel, and thankfully t

I have a subcompact SUV and up to this point I've been able to fit two sky kennels in my backseat, but my puppy is getting larger. Looking for recommendations: how do you keep your cockers safely contained on longer road trips in a sedan or smaller SUV? I do have a crash tested seat belt for the adult, but I don't want to keep her strapped in for hours at a time if we're on a longer road trip. (I am located in the US; prefer not to put the dogs in kennels in the trunk.)

I’m newer to the area and need to find a local groomer for my two American Cocker Spaniels, preferably near Smyrna Heights closing to S Cobb and Concord!

I’ve been taking my dogs to our old groomer ITP, but it’s time to find an option closer to our new home! TIA!

Releasing elbows over jumps

Education & Training

I've been riding 4+ years and I absolutely suck at jumping, I lesson 2x a week, sometimes 3. For 3 years I half leased a green horse who never got any better. I've recently started half leasing a school master and I'm getting more confident in my jumping (2 foot), but I struggle to release my elbows. Any tips? I'm an anxious 40+ adult ammy and I feel like I am 2 pointing like a pro and then I see videos and want to scream.

I'm not switching barns any time soon: this sport is prohibitively expensive and I like my trainer but she's not the most consistent at drilling. So I need to figure this out-- she doesn't see it as an issue, but I don't have that pretty hunter release all the kids are d

Has anyone here every brought home a former breeding dog as a companion? I've been working with a breeder to find a puppy, but she's rehoming a female who is done with breeding and I'm pretty sure I'm going to bring her home, spay her and spoil her. And maybe resume the puppy search in a few years.

My biggest concern is that she's spent her entire life around lots of dogs and I live alone. She's three years old. Any tips for making her comfortable? I've raised a puppy from 9 weeks on, but I'm not sure what to expect. I am planning to WFH the first week and gradually leave the house for longer periods to get her accustomed to it before I'm gone from the home for longer periods but would welc

Horse needs confidence

Education & Training

I’d love any advice on helping my spooky OTTB lease gain confidence. She’s been to a few horse shows and is a nervous wreck the first day and a half before she settles in. And then this week at home I had three lessons. She was amazing in our group lesson the other day. I also had two privates, one of the beginning of the week, and one tonight. For both those private lessons, she spooked and wouldn’t go around so my trainer and scrapped our plan and worked on getting her back on track.

Health issues have been ruled out and I just want her to feel confident when her buddies aren’t around to ride together! I’d love any advice. TIA!

Equiderma or Blue Stuff?

Equipment & Tack

Just curious to see what you’re using for fungus/scratches. I’ve been using the Blue Stuff for a while with good results but was curious if anyone has been using the Equiderma lotion and can speak to the effectiveness. Thanks!

I've been leasing a young OTTB for a few years and we've started showing at local shows in the same location. She's a green hunter and has attended about six shows so far. She gets extremely anxious when we arrive, and has progressed to rearing and bucking when walking around the grounds. However, she settles down fine after the first day.

This weekend, we brought her to another show at the same grounds. We've been there twice in the last month: once for a schooling day and once for a show. She was spooking a lot while I was walking her around the grounds and ended up rearing, kicking out, and running away. I was holding the lead rope and she kicked me hard, leaving a giant hoof-shaped brui

I’m at work and got an email from Nelnet about a new notification. I can’t fully check my Nelnet acccount, but I was able to login through my phone and see that my account is under an IDR forgiveness suspension and I won’t be making auto payments until July 2024. Does anybody else gotten this notice? What does it mean? Thank you!

Searching for horse rehoming advice. I'm on the board of a horse rescue in the Southeastern US that's been saving and rehabilitating abused, neglected, and abandoned equines for almost 15 years. Unfortunately, our property and herd costs have become too high to maintain quality care, so I'm leading efforts to rehome 11 retired unrideable horses (mares and geldings) to other credible non profit rescues that will provide them with a soft place to land as we wind up our operations and sell the property. They're all easy keepers who get along well with horses and humans and live outdoors year-round, but I understand that unrideable horses are hard to rehome and this will not be an easy task. I'l
