Hey everyone. So I'm a power user, run a web development business and game on the same system.

At any given time I have multiple different browsers, around 4 instances with 10-20 windows open in each instance. I run webflow, dreamweaver, microsoft office, etc. I also run discord, steam, photoshop, illustrator, slack, discord, Onerdrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, FTP clients and a few other programs all simultaneously.

I currently have a Intel 9600k OC'd to 5ghz running stable with 32gb 3200mhz ram. My card is a RX 570, which the games I play at 4k are not very taxing ranging from Factorio, Civ to WoW Classic, and soon WoW Retail. I usually multibox 3-5 WoW Classic instances at once, and just

Hey guys, looking to learn how to develop a WoW private server, I googled a bunch of stuff, and came up with the CMangos core being maybe the best to learn off of?

Just wondering what you guys think, should I run off a windows VPN for ease of having a user interface? Or go off a unix type system for more backend knowledge?

Also, if there's any developers out there that would like to help a noob get started on his own private server, I'd love the help!

Here's the code I'm using

SendChatMessage(UnitLevel("player")..":"..UnitClass("player")..":"..msg, "CHANNEL", nil, getChannelId("guild"));

I'm decoding the message with:

				local level, class, message = strsplit(":", msg, 3)
				print("[" .. sender .. "]: " .. message);    
    

Yet whenever I call upon message, it says it's a nil value, class and level work fine. WHat am I doing wrong?

I've tried:

Where print just prints a text message on the screen, and ping just makes a ping sound.

Does the CHAT_MSG_OFFICER event not work in vanilla?
