I am once again compiling all of the double-barrel first names registered in Scotland, this time for babies born in 2022! This will be an absolutely mammoth list of names, so prepare yourself. As always, there are a lot more for girls than boys. And also as always, I'll be including a shorter list of the names that most stood out to me for their particular uniqueness at the end, as well as some observations.

A literal nightmare name

:game:Fun and Games

I had a dream last night where a good portion of it was dedicated to viciously fighting with about 400 people on this subreddit because my wife and I had decided to name our daughter... Molestika. We were convinced this was a gorgeous name and could not understand why everyone was being so harsh on us. The fighting was intense and I woke up wondering just where the hell my brain got that from.

So I was wondering: anyone else had a dream where they've come up with a hideous name, or just a plain weird one? In another dream I had we were calling our son Alexadrian, which seemed weird at the time but does not even hold a candle to Molestika 😂

(I should also add that my wife and I are not exp

Quick overview here: the debt collection part isn't actively happening yet, but it's something I have to consider. I'm not sure if this is the right place, so apologies if it's not an appropriate post.

Without naming any names, recently my partner got cold-called by a saleswoman who offered a free trial for a simple product. The fact that this was a free trial was repeated several times, and the woman took no bank details. Today, I received two texts from the company demanding I set up a direct debit, and telling me that no products are free. I looked up the company online because I got some bad vibes, and found dozens upon dozens of people saying that they had the same thing happen: cold-c

I'm back at it again, browsing through the list of names recently released for all Scottish babies born in 2021! Last time I had a look at all the double-barrelled names, but as I was looking, I spotted a lot of very unique, unusual, or just plain odd names that I thought I would list separately. I will not be including the double names in this list, as I already highlighted those in the other post. This list will also be significantly shorter, hopefully.

Generally I include names if they're unique, unusual, spelled in an unexpected or unintuitive way, are unexpected for their time period, or are a

The names of babies born in Scotland in 2021 have just been released, and as I was browsing I noticed a lot of double-barrel first names. I decided to make a list of them all here. Some of them are pretty standard, others unusual, some shockingly nice, and others definitely not for me. There are also of course a lot more double-barrel girl names than boy names, so brace yourself for a long list.

I've been thinking about this for a while, and it requires a little context. I'm active on a certain blogging website that is absolutely overrun with porn bots. They're fake accounts trying to entice hapless users into clicking a link, thinking it's a real hot girl in their area who wants to cam with them. The website makes it impossible to show up in tags/search until a new blog has interacted a certain amount with existing blogs, which means when new bots show up, they'll mass-like posts on your blog to get those interaction points. It has been my fate to have to spend some time blocking these bots daily, and today I finally had a big enough influx that I thought I'd make a name list.

I always thought that even for a class of kids in Ireland, we had a large amount of impressive Irish names vs tamer names. I thought I'd list us off, with middle names where remembered and pronunciations where needed. I might forget some people as it's been a while, but these were the people I was in class with from ages 11-16.

Names:

Conchobhar (said just 'conor'; old Irish spelling of the name)
