It's at least 4 pages, possibly more. I think first published around the 70s, but not entirely sure. The story is: a couple is driving on a country road at night, but runs out of gas. He leaves looking for fuel and warning her to stay inside and beware of the monsters moving around at night. She falls asleep waiting for him, and is woken up by a scratching and tapping sound on the roof of the car. She remains inside, scared, imagining a monster crouched on the roof trying to get in by scratching on it, drifting in and out of consciousness while the sounds get more sporadic. She is woken up in the morning by the sheriff, who asks if this is her car, and then helps her out, recommending her no

Minetest 5.5.0 is out, forked their own rendering engine with IrrlichtMT
gamingonlinux.com/2022/01/minetest-550-is-out...I have a set of computational kernels that have to be executed over all items in a list. To keep the code generic, the kernels themselves are functions, and I then have a C++ function template that runs the kernel function within a for loop that is parallelized using #pragma omp parallel for.
This works perfectly fine with kernels that are embarrassingly parallel, but not for kernels that have a reduction in them. If I had 5.1 support, I could wrap the reduction within the kernel function in a #pragma omp scope reduction(), but presently the scope directly isn't really supported by any current compiler (I think only GCC 12 has support for it?).

Hello all, I was curious if the bit of alleged Russian put in Kosygin's mouth in McGinn's Red Yo-Yo song, transliterated as 'Sio phonyo orchen strativichen' can actually mean something in Russian, or it's just intended to be Russian-sounding.
Just as the title say: does a thrown weapon count as upgraded if the Sniper is wearing a RoS, for the purposes of the Shared Upgrades talent?
For the second time in less than 24 hours, I've had piece of equipment get destroyed by an explosive trap triggered by trowing the item over a chasm. Never happened to me before (I always considered that to be a pretty safe technique), but apparently it can happen: the item can fall on an explosive trap on the leve below, and it will trigger it, leading to its destruction if it's not robust enough (unique or upgraded item). Damn.
For most rings, having a +N and a +M ring is essentially equivalent to having a +(N+M+1) ring (except for the extra slot consumption). Does this hold for the Ring of Force too? I managed to find two RoF +1, but the damage I was doing with both equipped at 13 strength was not as high (compared to only using 1) as I expected: it felt more like I was using a RoF+1, with the +2 bonus coming from the other one.
(To be fair, the difference between the two would have been more perceptible with higher Str, but I got careless.)
I never liked it much, but with the recent changes in Shattered I like it even less. I think it might be an issue with me not “getting” it in the sense on not understanding the appropriate strategy to handle it, so does anybody have suggestions?
