I really like my exes as people. I spent all this time choosing them, becoming friends, exploring common interests, laughing, enjoying their company. Sometimes you just aren't quite compatible in a forever way, and things come to an end. But I miss them and wish there was a way to be friendly. I'm not talking about the relationships where things were hurtful or there was bad behavior. Nor am i wishing to do date-like things again. I just want to talk, send the an article they'd like, and maybe make sure if they are ok. (One guy died unexpectedly).

Anyone else wish there was some socially acceptable middle ground?

The leg broke on vacation in June, so I'm about 10 weeks out from surgery. A spiral break in three places on the tibia. Surgery put in a rod, plate and a bunch of screws.

I started weight bearing 2 weeks ago and I'm so discouraged by how far away something as simple as a Target visit seems. I can't walk more than about 30 steps without a lot of pain. I had to cancel a second vacation.

Those of you who had serious leg fractures- how long until you could walk a mile? Shop at a grocery store without pain? Just do life stuff.

Thanks.

Just need to put this out there to people who get it.

I (62f) went on a first date last weekend. It didn't take me long to figure out it wasn't a match. Long story short, I'm a PhD and he was a slow thinker and talker. Otherwise a good guy, but just not right for me. I thought he would be great for someone else.

That is until he started sending looong texts about why wouldn't I see him again. That people sign up for apps and then don't want to go out.

I get that there is an epidemic of loneliness, especially for single men our age. So I responded that I get stood up and ghosted too, and that he was cute and funny and I was sure he'd be great for the right person. I asked if he had tried

I (62f) need some advice. About a month ago I joined a dating app. And then I found out that even though I don't have any symptoms, I (and my brother) have inherited a heart issue from my dad. My doctor wants me to wear a heart monitor for a month to check for arrhythmia. Its small, about the size of a car remote. But it has to be up by my collarbone. Most shirts will show a little bit of it.

I was planning on waiting until I take this off to start the dating app. But I'm getting impatient. I miss men.

Guys, would you be put off if you were on an early date with a woman with this? Normally I dont share health info until I know someone. But I'd kinda have to explain it a bit.

Thoughts?

I wake up tired even though I've had a full night's sleep. We've ruled out sleep apnea. But I am always dragging. I thought it was burnout and stress. But is it the reduced EF?

Do you have fatigue, and what does it look like?

Many thanks in advance.

I just got diagnosed. I have no symptoms. I did a test because my brother and father had it. I've lived a heart healthy life. I don't like fatty or salty food, have always done some light to moderate exercise, etc.

My EF is 35%. I would really like to improve this this. Has anyone had any success at increasing their EF when its inherited?

After Christmas I felt awful. I had extreme fatigue and the worst body aches I've ever had. But no fever, no congestion, no stomach symptoms. Just tired and body aches. I thought it might be stress, but maybe it was the flu. I got a flu shot, so maybe it was a weakened flu?

Was anything like this going around ?

TL;DR Sudden illness after graduation caused a three year gap, how to get an entry engineering job now.

My [OH] friend graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from a good school in late 2022. Shortly after, before he found a permanent job, he developed epilepsy. It's under control now, and he can drive, etc. and is perfectly normal unless you are in the know.

He is ready to work full time and has been looking for an entry level engineer job for about 9 months. He gets interviews, but no offers. Do people on this subreddit think its because of the gap? He's received advice not to share about his health challenge to avoid discrimination. He has worked a part time job in light con

I just talked to a friend who has a stomach condition where she often vomits. She's trying to avoid being placed on a feeding tube. They told her to just vomit in the office. She is appealing the decision, but wow.

I just filed a wfh accommodation request for active cancer treatment. I'm sure its going to get rejected.

WTF is going on?

Can anyone suggest good comfy coffee shops to read in? Ones with armchairs and atmosphere. I'm happy to make sure I spend enough not to be a drain on them.

My cats are stir crazy. I've gotten catnip from Amazon, and I filled a thin sock full with it for them to play with. Nothing. Any suggestions?
