My mother died of AML two weeks ago. I’ve found two unopened bottles of Xospata, the FLT3 inhibitor. It kept her alive for three months longer than she had. I can’t bear throwing it out. It’s $50,000 of pills. Is there anywhere I can LEGALLY donate it here in the Southeastern US? I will literally drive 800 miles to not waste these pills. The leukemia phone pharmacy told me to just throw it out.

Asheville native but off working elsewhere. Was able to get in by I-26 Saturday night at 2am. The curfew is being enforced but I showed my ID and said I was going to rescue family.

Hiked up Elk Mountain Saturday, then chain sawed my way into the house. Elk Mountain is clear now up to Herron Cove thanks to Charlie and his earthmover!

Heard secondhand from a doctor that there are 100+ bodies in a temporary morgue at Mission, not sure if it’s accurate or a rumor.

Nowhere open for food that I have seen.

Other than Captain Tuvok, their last try, who was abducted and replaced with a Changeling, whom else do you think Picard, Seven, and the Titan crew called for help?

Harry Kim? Nog? Quark and Morn? Jake Sisko? Chancellor Martok? And surely the Changelings would have had to kidnap half of DS9 to extinguish Worf’s connections there. Interested in your theories of who they tried and who the Changelings are holding prisoner as we speak.

UPDATE: our tech savvy friend got in without the password! I do appreciate all the chess help. According to Walter’s friend, he’d be laughing himself silly at our attempts to solve his chess riddle. We spent several hours arguing the finer points of the King’s Gambit, lol.

For those of y’all worrying how this was handled. Those were good concerns. My colleague is passing the files over to the executor of his estate. Written permission was obtained for this whole adventure. Hopefully they get to his family (or colleagues for posthumous publication). But if his will says to burn it all, metaphorically speaking, I’d hope an executor would honor that. Though I’m thankful Virgil’s didn’t!

I just saw a comment on r/startrek by u/DelbertCornstubble that piqued my interest. How did Scotty figure out how to save himself in a pattern buffer diagnostic loop when the USS Jenolan crashed into the Dyson Sphere in “Relics?” It’s such a novel idea that it even impressed Geordi, the brightest engineer on the Federation flagship from 80 years in Scotty’s future.

In Strange New Worlds, we discover that the Enterprise’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. M’Benga is a Renaissance Man. In addition to being an expert on Human and Vulcan surgery and genetic engineering, he also knows his way around a transporter bio filter. He engineers a way to save his dying daughter’s pattern inside the Enterprise’s
