I bought the TYT TH-UV98 transceiver. When trying to flash the firmware, the programming connector (the Kenwood speaker/mic jack) jumped out by the springiness of their connectors and now my radio is bricked. I suppose it is for good?
Anyways, I may just buy another one and keep the bricked for spares. I bought it for satelite work, but the radio does not support cross band operation, at least not with the current firmware. That is why I tried to update. I wonder whether cross band channels could be programmed using the cable? Does the CHIRP software support such function?
Also I wonder whether there is a way to copy memory to VFO from the radio panel? And whether it is possible to display
I am with Prusa Research, we are an open source / open hardware company. I am responsible for PrusaSlicer, which was forked from Slic3r and it is AGPL3 licensed.
Recently a Chinese company Bambulab forked our PrusaSlicer. Most likely they tried to keep it closed. For example, they reworded many of the help texts for no particular reason. However the community recognized the PrusaSlicer origin and Bambulab were forced to open source. They did it their way though, deleting the source code history and continuing to commit huge squashes into their public repository. They also added a networking code, which they separated from the AGPL source code base and they are downloading and instal
Frankly I am getting quite frustrated with my Voron 2.4 built from Formbot kit I found under the Christmas tree. I got my printer running last weekend after a significant effort including a lot of pondering about the wiring, wire chains, crimping etc. Now after about 3 days of continuous printing, I am hearing cracking sound from the left front idler. The sound is there only with the left motor rotating while the print head moves along one diagonal. Moving the print head along the other diagonal is fine, thus the linear rails are OK. I "listened" with a phone with a spectrogram app to verify that the noise comes from the left front idler.
I am slowly finalizing my Formbot Voron 2.4 kit. I just got my Voron printing PLA today. Now I "just" need to finish the enclosure and redo some wiring.
The Formbot kit came with a 1mm thick 5mm wide tape, which is too thin for side panels. With 1mm thick foam the floating gantry could collide with the panels. What 3mm thick foam is recommended and where to source it?
Also I wonder what to do with the excess of the Z belts. I don't like to trim them flush with the belt clips as I would likely not be able to re-belt with the trimmed belts if I need to remove them. If I bend the ends of the Z belts upwards or downwards, I feel they may collide with the panels. What is the recommende
I am running Klipper on Octopus board with Mainsail on R-Pi4. If I press the halt button on display or if I cancel the print in Mainsail, the Klipper quite often never handshakes anymore until I reboot the whole R-Pi. Is there a cure to it?
I am an aging electronics enthusiast (close to 45 years, with light tinnitus, 4 kids screaming), thus my high frequency hearing (above 10 kHz) is close to zero. I recently designed and built a set of 3D printed speakers using some old stereo TV speaker replacement parts. These speakers sound pretty good as far as I can tell, but there is little response below 120 Hz, which is to be expected from such a small design. However, above 120 Hz the sound reproduction is clear, intelligibility of speech and songs is superb.
I bought recently two portable speakers from IKEA: The Eneby 20 and Eneby portable.
