Back in 85 i bought my first computer, the good old CoCo2. I think it was the 16k model. Got the tape drive and it was my gateway to coding from the good olde type in programs in the mags back then. I really don't know what happened to it. I think it might have gotten trashed in a move in 88. Not sure. But by grad in 88 I didn't have it.

Move forward to today, got my hands on a 16k model a few months back. And I got an RCA to coax adapter to plug it into my retro screen (Samsung tv with multiple inputs). It was a test but I got it working. Though it's a little worn out and took a little while to get the color to initialize. Was only grey at first. But I just got an order for a 64k machine w

I have a world that I've been working on for over a year now. Fairly spread out. I have a fairly nice one from what my daughter tells me. I hit some good caves early. And I've been working on a cluster of 20 ancient villages for a while. Yesterday an update came down. when it was done my world wouldn't load. Kept giving me the panda error (not enough room to load) so I duplicated it and got it to load. Well today I deleted everything in an effort to get my original to load. Another suggestion from Minecraft help. OK so got it to load. Everything seemed to be fine. Now yesterday I was at my far south west village. It's where I've hollowed out a mountain as a base and I was working my way up t

I'm getting a replacement keyboard and a tape drive for mine. I've got a number of the popular modules, but no speach synth. And I would drool for a PEB. So just wondering. What does everyone out there have theirs powered up for? Just for laughs? Nostalgia? Actually USE it for anything? I just fired up my TI Invaders for the first time in years. And I can now see why my dad didn't like the personal finance manager. I'm thinking of looking up an old magazine word processor program to see how it works. Once the tape arrives.

So This isn't my first jeep. Not even my first WK. I got one from my daughter after she was broadsided in it. I pieced it back together and it lasted another year. But solid truck. So I got a 2006 GC Overlander with the 5.7 hemi. Was doing good at first but has developed the infamous transmission over temperature alarm. I've used and ir thermometer and it looks to be fine. Even the fluid is still good red. And it's not giving any driving issues (well not from the tranny anyway). I've even had it in the local Chrysler dealer for a diagnostic. They couldn't find the fault. I have a couple things I'm gonna try. But I've got a suspicion the pcm is flaking out. anyone else actually fix this?

North Texas has really been hit by the drought. I wanted to get my first run on the season on Bonham Lake but it's about 3 feet low. It's too low to even get my keel down on my Capri 14.2, The Bonnie Lass. Well This weekend seemed perfect. we got some good storms the last few weeks that got Bois D'arc lake full enough. It was fairly sunny and hit 90 today. Problem was the winds decided to outdue the forecasts. It was fine at first. 12 maybe 15 knots in the morning. I headed out just mainsailing. Kept my jib secured. by noon the winds died down so I loosened the jib and let her go. really felt good. But when I started to head in the winds really kicked up. Really made it a bugger trying to br

So I was getting my Capri 14.2 ready for the season. Got new lines on. Cleaned her up. And fixed my broken trailer light. I went out to Lake Bonham yesterday to check it out. Jeez. For this time of year for the water to still be that low is nuts. you'd think we'd already been through the dog days of summer. I'd say it's a good 3 feet below normal. The level is a foot below the dock ladders. And a good portion of the launch ramp is dry. I wouldn't even be able to drop my swing keel until I was well out onto the lake. I mean, sure it's small, but I'd be limited to how much I could do because I am sure I'd hit every sand bar in the lake. My only option for now is to go out on the new Bois D'arc

OK. so I got off ebay an older Ideacentre Q190. It is a very deliberate choice. I wanted an older box WITH hdmi but not needing advanced features. I got it specifically to be a media box for the living room. I just can't seem to get a good sound setup from my tv and will be using an old computer speaker system for output. Also I'm looking at putting an older version of Debian (Probably 11 unless 10 configures ok). The reason being, it's not going to be an internet box and I want WINE to run correctly so I can install some of my older games (ahem, Starcraft) and get them to run like I used to. I could never configure add architecture to work right with them.

It arrived today and it appears t
