Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I was hoping to find people that have had less-traditional weddings.

My boyfriend and I are going to get married in the next few years. He hasn’t proposed yet but we often discuss what we would want for a wedding.

Our situation is difficult because I grew up in Ontario, Canada, he grew up in Alberta (central) Canada, and we now live in coastal BC (far west) Canada.

Most recently we have been discussing the option of eloping, and then doing two, small, informal celebrations, one with family and one with friends. The separation is because my family is willing to travel/has since moved closer to us, and he has a larger fami

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I are going to a wedding near Mexico City next March and we want to add on what will be both of our first trip to Central America (besides a very brief trip to Belize). We are Canadian, late-20s, and have travelled Mexico fairly extensively due to having lots of Mexican friends and his parents living there. We’ve visited some not-so-safe areas of Mexico but always with locals/people that knew the area. I have some conversational spanish and he is fairly fluent in Spanish. We both love hiking/nature/surfing/snorkeling, love food and enjoy some nightlife, although nightlife is lower priority than the other stuff! We don’t do the all-inclusive thing, much prefer A

I want to get a Brazilian sugar wax, but due to time constraints it would be about 72 hours before I leave on vacation for mexico. Obviously I will be wearing a bathing suit a lot while I’m there, so my nightmare scenario would be being all red and covered in bumps. The place im looking at getting it done has really good reviews, but I want a reality check - is this a bad idea?

What the title says - I’ve never coloured my hair (ever) but I’m looking to get some very natural-looking blonde highlights, kind of that sun-kissed look. I’m light brunette with lots of blonde pieces that get bleached in the summer, but I’m looking to maintain that look through the winters. I’m a bit nervous since I’ve never coloured my hair before and I really don’t want it to look unnatural, so I’m definitely willing to pay for good work. TIA!

Hi all,

I have a 4-day pass for the folk fest this weekend but I've had something come up and I'm no longer able to go. I paid 150 but I'm prepared to part with it for less! The one catch is that it's Youth/Student/Senior/Accessible, meaning you would have to fall into one of those categories to get the wristband. Student = post-secondary with valid student ID.

PM me if interested!

Hi all, I’m wondering if most buildings on campus are locked on stat holidays (specifically tomorrow). I’m a grad student trying to get some work done in the lab tomorrow, but I’m wondering if I can even get in. Thanks.

Hi all! I (22F) recently received my second dose and I’m feeling optimistic and celebratory:) I moved here about a month ago, not knowing many people. So far hasn’t mattered because covid and work. But in a couple weeks I’ll be fully protected and I’m looking forward to regaining a bit of a social life. I have two main questions:

  1. I’ve looked at meetup, but given the current circumstances there’s understandably not a lot going on. Any other groups/services people have used to meet people recently?
  2. Any fully vaccinated (or soon-to-be) people looking for new friends? I love to get outside, both in Calgary and in the mountains. Biking, hiking, tennis, whatever. I also will never turn down

Hi guys! I'm moving to Calgary this summer before I start graduate work at U of C in the fall. I was just about to sign a lease at this great place I found before I noticed that the landlord had included "no overnight guests" as one of the 'house rules' that need to be followed. Does anyone know if this is actually legally binding or grounds for eviction?

The reason I ask is because my boyfriend will also be in Calgary. He has his own place and we can spend time there too, but I want to have the option of him staying over once or twice a week.

I'm from Ontario and I have literally never heard of a landlord expecting this, nevermind including it the lease. I'm not sure if this is an Alberta

For some background, I've (20F) done shrooms 4 times. I'm now in university and a few of my roommates want to try them for the first time. I'm also planning on taking them, but I'm looking to mix it up a little. The first few times I did them I was just so unbelievably high that I spent the entire time enjoying the hallucinations/having super high talks with the people around me (the usual). I'm sure that will be what it's like for them too, since it's their first time, and I'm definitely looking forward to that. I'm just wondering if anyone has cool stuff they've tried/done while tripping. I did some drawing and painting last time and I'm looking for something along those lines that I can d

So I'm (20F) working a summer job right now, and I have this awesome coworker (19M). He's funny, smart, and I'm pretty attracted to him. Whenever we have downtime on the job we have great conversations and have very similar music tastes, opinions, etc. Early on I found out that he's (totally coincidentally) going into first year at the university I'm currently attending. I was super excited when I heard that, but shortly afterwards it came up that he has a girlfriend lol. I have 0 interest in messing with their relationship, but I want to continue being friends with him during school (which he's also expressed an interest in). But I feel weird because I'm attracted to him, and I definitely t

Hi guys, going into 3rd year lifesci and looking for electives. I've always done really well in math/calc and I miss it. Tired of all this memorization bullshit. Does anyone have recommendations for math courses that are interesting but won't ruin my gpa. I'll feel like an idiot if I take some random one and end up doing badly. Thanks!

Edit: Also if you took a course and it destroyed you I'd like to know that too. Thinking of maybe taking MATH 281 but can't find any grade distributions.

Ok is it just me or are the KA passages for C/P harder than AAMC ones? I've done FL 1&2 and C/P has been my worst section both times, but generally when I review my questions I'm just making dumb mistakes. I test on 5/31 and I'm doing KA passages to try and bring up my mark but they're hard! They seem much more centred on physics and require more knowledge of content. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this because I'm getting psyched out.

Hi guys, this is going to sound super douchey but I'm genuinely curious. I do pretty well on CARS, usually get about 1 wrong per passage and have scored 130 and 129 on the first two AAMC FL. Does anyone who's scored consistently in the 130s have any advice? At this point when I look at my incorrect answers I usually have a genuine difference of opinion with their explanation lol, especially since the AAMC explanations suck. I'd be very willing to brainwash myself to think more like the AAMC test writers. Please no hate, I'm Canadian and my gpa is somewhat lacking so I'm trying to kill this shit.
