I’m a long-term player of vanilla FO4. I don’t farm legendary items anymore (I will pick up those with a known vendor or location), which means I seldom find any random legendaries that are actually useful.

Yesterday I picked up an explosive combat shotgun off of a robot, the first time I’ve ever seen one. Fully upgraded it’s a phenomenal weapon, quickly and almost effortlessly scything through all enemies and largely trivializing the game.

I’m going to put it in a container and return to my old weapon load-out that provides more of a challenge. Anyone else run into some type of gear that is too good to use?

I tried converting a grand soul gem into a black one at Dark Fissure using the original game method: Wait until the light is present, put the grand soul gem in the alter, hit the alter with a soul trap on touch spell, but the conversion didn't take place. I haven't joined the Mages Guild, but this wasn't necessary in the old game. Thanks in advance for any insight.

And archery actually works. Cleared out Reguard Valley Cave's Ogres at level 2 with a iron bow and arrows.

A few minor hiccups, one side quest I can't get to work (may be my fault), and I'm still getting used to the new UI, but the visuals and the rest feels great. Very pleased so far.

In original Morrowind I think you could just taunt Helseth for a 1-on-1 fight with him. I tried this in OpenMW and, after he finally attacked me, all of his guards in the Throne Room attacked me too. I ended up using Frenzy Humanoid to kill all the guards one-by-one, then taunting and killing Helseth (0 bounty at the end).

Does this match with the experience of other OpenMW players, or is my game messed up?

I just finished the Main Quest for the first time is about 10 years. I had forgotten what a absolute nightmare the Zainab Nerevarine quest was.

!Find the Zainab camp, talk to the Wise Woman, talk to the Ashkhan, find the tomb, kill the occupants, talk to the Ashkhan, talk to the Wise Woman, talk to the Slaver, go find the clothes, talk to the Slaver, go find bug musk, talk to the Slaver and buy the Bride, get the Bride to the camp at a slow walk without her getting killed by a fish or a rat, talk to the Bride, talk to the Ashkhan, talk to the Wise Woman, talk to the Bride, talk to the Ashkhan.!<

Anyone find another part of the Main Quest more irritating?
