Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice from people who have lived/are currently living the homeowner lifestyle.
I live in a LCOL/MCOL area.
My TC for 2023 was around $90k, expected to be close to $130k for 2024.
I have 15k in retirement & 20k in savings and investments. I take home about 2700 every 2 weeks. I save about 1500-2500 from my pay every month.
As the title states, I’m looking to buy my first home between now and when my current lease is up at the end of May.
What price range should I be looking at? What things should I keep in mind when purchasing? What are some costs that are unavoidable with homeownership?
Just looking for any/all advice. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone,
I am currently 25, have a little over 3 YOE and was recently promoted to manager, FP&A at a privately held small-midsize IT company. I’m very happy with my comp, WLB, responsibilities etc, but I want to continue progressing throughout my career.
I would like to set myself up for the opportunity to be in a director or vp level role down the road in an either FP&A or corp dev related role. I’d also like to have the credentials to be considered for a FAANG or large public company, or tech startup if that was the route I decided to take.
With all this said I feel like the experience I am getting is crucial to where I want to be in 5-10 years, but I want to make sure if I do an
Hi guys,
As an STL native and someone who got back into melee over the past year, I’m trying to see if there are any online groups that are STL specific so my buddy and I can start attending some locals. If anyone knows of a Facebook or discord group let me know!
Hi everyone, been playing close to 2 years now and hover between a 19-23 handicap. I’m 6’2 and started videoing my swing as I try to break 90 and noticed I’m really hunched over. Went to my local shop to get fitted and they told me not to buy new clubs that they could just extend mine for me, ended up being about $180 for the extension and regrip which was way better than new clubs.
I’ve hit them twice now and many of my shots are “fat”. I’ve also noticed that I’m leaving it more right than I was prior to extending.
For those that have gone from standard to adding length - how long did it take you to adjust and did it end up benefitting you?
Title.
How do you quantify an achievement that is not literally measured, and accurately explain it if brought up in an interview?
For example, a large part of my current role has been spent automating reporting. I have probably increased efficiency by somewhere from 40-60% when it comes to time spent on reporting. Would these numbers on a resume not just appear as bs estimates?
I’ve been in my current role a year and a half and I try to use my resume to track achievements by updating quarterly but I’ve had some issues quantifying a few. I know quantifiable achievements has been the biggest feedback I’ve seen in this subreddit so wanted to spark some conversation on really how to go abo
Hi All,
I got my Boden 6 Prog in January and it has been the best guitar I have ever owned. The factory setup was perfect, and I love everything about it. Sunday I tried changing the strings on my own, got everything done, and now I have horrible fret buzz? I took it to my local shop as well and the tech who has worked on all my guitars in the past adjusted the truss rod slightly and checked the string height and said everything was perfect but unfortunately it just does not feel the way it used to feel before changing the strings (and this has me very sad). I am thinking it could be something to do with the zero frett or nut because I have seen that mentioned previously, but wanted to make
Hello all.
After 3 long months of pain and trying to remove food groups and adjust my diet while seemingly not improving, I am finally scheduled for an upper endoscopy. I have had an abnormal CT scan and an abnormal upper GI series prior to this, and the doctors seem to believe this is the next best step.
I’m an extremely anxious person when it comes to anything medical, airplanes, and elevators. If anyone has any kind words or can help me relax a little the rest of this week I would greatly appreciate it.
Upper endoscopy at 11 am Friday, I believe propofol will be administered.
Edit: I am home recovering. As nervous as I was it really wasn’t that bad. The nurses were great and the pro
US, 25, male, ex smoker (vape and occasional cigarette), sober 9 weeks, prior to that frequent drinker.
Had an upper GI series done today and the only thing that came up was that the duodenal bulb did not distend normally, while everything else was normal. I’ve been having GI issues about 3 months now, does anyone know what this means?
Hi all. I will officially be 7 weeks sober this Sunday. I have been dealing with some stomach issues (unresolved) and gave up alcohol for the time being. Before giving it up, I was drinking craft beer regularly (2-5 drinks 4-6 times a week).
During this time so much has changed, my skin, my hair/beard, my hyperhydrosis, energy, anxiety, body composition (6’2 male 185 pounds), and I am considering never drinking again. I go on vacation in May and I know that’s going to be the biggest challenge, but what does everyone do with the time that they don’t drink during on vacation and in day to day life? I feel like there is so much time in a day now, because the time doesn’t just disappear from t
Hi everyone, hoping for some clarity on some abdominal pain.
24, male, 6”2 190 lbs
Got sick about a month and a half ago, extreme pressure and bloating in lower left abdomen, pain resided after ~10 days. Since the beginning of January I have been living normally, exercising, golfing, eating healthy, etc except for drinking because of the issue. It is now February and I still have some pressure and what almost feels like a random pinch in my lower left abdomen.
Had blood work and CT scan done and blood work came back “magnificent” but my doctor said I have a gluten and dairy allergy (I’ve been told this is bullshit and they can’t actually confirm this from IGG tests in blood work) and
