VRAI Red Flags 🚩🚩🚩

Vendor Review - CUSTOMERS ONLY

Hi everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience custom-designing an engagement ring. I initially fell for the online hype around VRAI, but my experience with them was a nightmare of red flags.

Context: I’m a hyper-organized Type-A girl, I wanted a 14k white gold or platinum, elongated marquise with a starburst halo, cathedral setting, a light European shank and a pave on the cathedral bridge.

From the jump, the entire consultation felt incredibly rushed and pushy. While a fast process might be great for someone proposing next week, it felt like she was just trying to close a sale rather than design my dream ring.

I specifically requested a GIA/IGI certified VVS2+ diamond on my intake

I'm specifically asking about pubic hair (bc at least in my case the skin on the rest of my body can handle wax).

TMI and slightly embarrassing but... I've just waxed that area as I usually do (using a very delicate hard wax made for sensitive skin and coarse hair) and this time a large bit of skin came with it šŸ’€ basically the thin outer layer of skin, leaving the area "shiny" and with burning pain.

It's happened before but with very small bits of skin so I wasn't bothered because this hair removal method (compared to shaving, creams, soft wax, sugaring, epilator) is the only one that doesn't give me other bad reactions and at least it's effective in removing hair and lasts a decent amount

10+ year POTS Vet here, tomorrow I'll have -what I feel to be- the most important POTS-related medical appointment of my life, I'm feeling really nervous.

I'm going to see the only doctor (cardiologist) officially specialised in our condition in my country. I'll have to travel 6+ hours to get there and, drum roll, during a massive heat wave. This is why I asked my dad to come with me, for moral but most of all physical support.

I've been feeling really sick lately, can barely function and get out of my bed, so travelling plus the psychological stress of what's about to come are hard to digest.

Any word of encouragement is highly welcome thank you!!

'Hipsurfer' baby carrier, has anyone tried it?

Helpful Tips, Tricks, and Products

TL;DR viral 'Hipsurfer baby carrier belt by Hackerlilly, has anyone with APT (anterior pelvic tilt) tried it?

Hi! I'm posting on behalf of a friend of mine who's a new mum and has knee hyperextension and APT. She doesn't have EDS/HSD, but since the above-mentioned issues are largely present in our community, I felt like still trying to get some recs.

Also asking for myself in case I ever decide to have children in the future.

I saw this product on social media being promoted to reduce pain (shoulder, arm, back, and more) when carrying a child (newborn up to 3 years of age).

Hello! 29F here (not sure if it matters), I'm free esperate to hear your tips & tricks on exfoliation please!!!

Some context: I've been shaving my legs and arms for years, with discreet results but my hair would grow back by the end of the same day, therefore I've started waxing about a year ago.

With shaving I'd get a couple of ingrown hairs here and there but with waxing oh man... I have strawberry/chicken skin with bumps and ingrowns everywhere!

I've tried using any type of physical scrub (bad bad idea), chemical exfoliation like glycolic acid (the toner by the ordinary), salicylic acid, urea creams... But nothing seems to work!

What do you do in order not to get ingrowns and bumpy/

DAE get vulvar fissures?

NSFWSimilar Experiences?

Question for vulva & vagina owners, is your skin on your vulva (the outer part) really thin and fragile and do you tear easily? What's your experience? I'm not talking about pregnancy/delivery related tears, just "random" ones.

TMI but I (29F, hEDS) have a few vulvar fissures (aka tears that feel like paper cuts, located on the bottom of the vaginal opening) and whenever they heal, they chronically "open back", with intercourse -although I always use tons of lube-, after my periods, if I shave etc.

Disclaimer: I'm not looking for medical advice, I'm just curious about how common this may be in our community since this doesn't seem to be talked about a lot.

hello everyone, I've recently joined the single club again and I was wondering HOW and WHEN do you tell someone you're dating/would like to date that you have EDS (and any related comorbidity)?

I was still with my ex when I got diagnosed, so he knew everything as it was happening, therefore I've never experienced dating someone new after my dx and "having to come out".

I know -or at least I suppose- there's no "right" or "wrong" way to do this, so I'm not really asking for advice, rather for your own personal experiences, without judgement!

For context: it's virtually impossible to tell by my pictures on dating apps or when meeting me in person, on a "good day" (because I've yet to start

Guitar playing - Barre chords

Similar Experiences?

Not sure whether it's the right flair.

I've been playing the guitar, self-taught, on and off for about 6 years and no matter how many tutorials I've watched and how many people tried to teach/help me I've never been able to properly play barre chords... I'm now 99% it's because of hypermobility. Does anyone else have the same struggle? If so, did you find a solution? My only choice for now is to play songs with no barre chords lol I've found an artist on IG who has EDS and uses ring splints but I've never watched her play, I'm pretty sure the splints hitting the strings would make them sound off or something so I don't think that's a solution...

As a silver-only jewellery girl, I'm obviously considering a white gold/platinum engagement ring, although in my country/culture engagement rings are quite a new thing (e.g. I know only a few people from my parents' generation that got one) and wedding bands are traditionally made of yellow gold. Usually what you'd do, once married, is wear the wedding band on one ring finger and the engagement ring on the opposite hand. I'd love to stack them, also to have the freedom of wearing different rings on my other hand, but I'm not quite sure how the white + yellow gold would look like, if that's even common to wear and most importantly if I'd even like it aesthetically. So, if you have them stack

Fyi, I also have EDS and gastroparesis can be one of its comorbidities/complications. With that being said, when I started experiencing great nausea, fast fullness and delayed gastric emptying, I thought "f*ck... Here we go..." and after a few months I was finally able to see a gastroenterologist who just brushed it off and gave me some meds (that I couldn't even take because of some of my other medications). I wasn't on any POTS-related meds at the time, especially since most beta blockers don't work well with me.

Fast forward to when I started Ivabradine... IT WAS ALL GONE. I kid you not, in less than a week. Therefore I told my cardiologist, who diagnosed me with POTS years ago and who p

Suggested planned C-section

TW: Pregnancy/Infertility

For reference, I am not pregnant nor intend to be in the near future (actually I still have to decide whether to have biological or adoptive children).

Because of my hEDS, both my geneticist and the president of the EDS patients association of my country strongly advised me to have a planned C-section in the future. Due to the pregnancy topic being a little taboo (or at least this is the explanation I gave myself) they didn't really go into detail more than saying "vaginal birth comes with greater risk of tears, damage, prolapse and dislocations".

Since neither of them really wanted to explain the cons of C-section, I'm asking you all. Whether you have personal experiences, med publicat
