I'm surprised I haven't seen more chatter on here about TIPS. I went in very hard on a 30-year TIPS ladder a few months ago, which will provide me retirement income for the next 30 years.

It sucks that rates have continued to climb (i.e. I could have bought the same income for less money now), but I'm still pretty stoked about my inflation-adjusted income plan.

Anyone else go in hard on a TIPS ladder retirement plan in the last year?

TIPS are providing a 30-year draw down (to zero) of 4.84% right now.

So $1M would provide $48,400 in inflation adjusted income for 30 years.

I’ve been toying around with an idea of creating either a 90s country weekly newsletter or potentially just a website that, week by week or month by month, walks us back through the nostalgia of 90s country.

The idea would be that in each weekly newsletter, we have little stories about what was happening in the country music at the time — the musicians, the awards, the news…and maybe a few songs we’ve forgotten about.

Here’s my question. Do you think this would be most enjoyable as a weekly newsletter that arrives in your inbox? Or should it just be a blog/website that you can visit when you want to browse? (or maybe something else entirely?) My current thinking is a newsletter would be

For the last year, I've been learning with a tutor in Colombia via Preply, and it has given me a ton of real world listening and speaking experience. I'm now well over the 100 hour mark. As we all know, learning a language isn't easy, but this has been something that has really helped me get over the fear of not really knowing how to speak.

There are lots of teachers in the $6-10 per hour range -- so it's very affordable -- and you may even make a friend in another country.

They are running a referral special right now. If you sign up, you'll get 70% off your first lesson. Maybe worth a try! [https://preply.com/en/?pref=MTg5OTEyMjM=&id=1781649060.176091&ep=w1](https://preply.com/en

For context, my dad is 88. He survived Lymphoma (chemo and radiation) about 4-5 years and has been in reasonable health since then. He's pretty active for an 88 year old.

Recently, he went to his internal medicine doctor, but my mom (84) did not go in with him. He left having no idea what the doctor said. They made a new appointment a few weeks later -- and my mom went in and was supposed to conference me in via speaker phone. She forgot to charge her phone (which she doesn't use much) and was unable to conference me in. But the doctors notes were available. He noted increased cognitive decline, continued complaints of dizziness, lack of taking medication as he should, and increased

Hi everyone. I played trombone in middle school, but that was 40 years ago. However, I've often told my wife that I was assigned to trombone because after a 10 second assessment, the band director said "you have the lips of a trombone player" -- even though sax was my top choice.
My kids are active in band, and it has taken me back to the fun of seeing them perform. Is it feasible to start sax later in life? Are there learning methods that are known to work well for adults? I don't really know where to start -- but I've been sitting with this idea for a few weeks and sort of want to just see how it feels.

I've done Reflection out of FLL a few times. I was considering going again because they keep sending me offers. My wife thinks I'm crazy because it is the same shows, food, games, etc. What do you guys think? Is it still fun if you've already done it a few times?

We are going on our first Princess cruise next week. I just want to make sure that I understand how the Sea You Soon offers work.

We are very familiar with the program through Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. When you earn an instant certificate, you choose from a predetermined list.

Am I correct in saying that for the Princess program you can pick from any cruise as long as it’s not Asia or Australia? If so, I’ll be all over some of those going through Europe.

I’m hoping someone can help with how to troubleshoot this further. I have an iPhone 12 which worked previously with wireless CarPlay on my RAV4. One day it stopped working. It now only works when plugged in.

I tried my phone on another Toyota with wireless CarPlay and it worked fine. That should prove that my phone is fine.

I tried my wife’s phone on my car and it worked fine. That should prove that the car is working correctly.

I’ve reset the car infotainment system. I’ve reset my phone. I’ve removed and re-added devices more times than I can count. The Toyota dealership scoffed it off, saying well clearly it works with other peoples phones, including the one they had in the shop.

My parents are 87/83, both in good health for their ages. However, like most 80+ year olds, they are not safe behind the wheel. They still drive around in their small town, and much to my dismay, even drive about an hour up a small highway to see other family members every week or so.

I rode with my mom for 5-10 minutes one day a few years ago and was scared to death. I immediately knew she did not need to be behind the wheel. Since then, I drive anytime I'm with them.

There is no way they still have the reflexes and other driving skills to drive on the interstate. There have been a few times where they have come to my house (2.5 hours away), but in those instances, I go get them and

Random story -- but my small success breeds a desire to learn more!

I've had an up and down relationship with Spanish. Like a lot of people, I took a few years in high school and learned only the basics. 20 years ago, I spent a few weeks in Costa Rica at a language school and far surpassed anything I learned in high school -- but the day I left was the last day I tried to really speak in Spanish.

I started doing duolingo a few years ago, but in the last 4 months I've started working with a tutor in Colombia (via Preply). He's not an experienced teacher, and I think I'm his only student, but we have fun and talk/learn for 2-3 hours each week. He speaks very little English -- so we just
