I'm a parent with a question about split grade classrooms. At my childrens' school ALL classes are split grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, & 7/8. I'm looking for data on these types of classes, if they are generally good/bad/harmful. The only information I was able to find was that usually students are hand selected for split grade classes when they are independent learners. Obviously this is not the case if every class is split. Most comments I've seen online from teachers is that it's money-saving, but I'm not sure how that makes sense if there are 7 grade 1/2 classes, why not have 3 of each grade and 1 split?
Anyway, looking for any data or teacher opinions on this set up.
My LO had bad eczema starting around 3 months, and by 4 months he was rubbing his face/head so much that he was waking himself up, sometimes within as little as 10 minutes after being put down. We felt that we were unable to sleep train at 4 months because he was actually experiencing a lot of discomfort. In order for both of us to get at least some consecutive sleep, we started sleeping in shifts and the other one would hold LO. He has also been nursed to sleep from the beginning, and still is for night time sleep and all naps. I have tried putting him in his crib at night recently (his skin is much better) but the maximum time he will sleep is 1hr - he can't put himself back to sleep.
Our doctor recommended going dairy-free for my 4.5 month old's eczema (also has silent reflux).
Just wondering about others' experiences with elimination. I'm aware it can take up to a total of 6-8 weeks for everything to be out of my system and his and for him to heal. But I'm wondering when others started to see improvement, specifically for eczema, and also if it gets worse before it gets better during the dairy detox. We have been dairy free for 2 weeks, but his eczema got worse starting last week.
We just joined team boy, I have opened up the discussion on names. We previously weren't discussing names because I didn't want to worry about names we didn't have to think about (i.e. my giant list of girl names that I love).
I just want to get some more suggestions for boy names, because there are very few I've found that I like enough to consider using. I'm not huge on nicknames so that's not a consideration, but if there's a cute one I might use it. So far this is my list:
Isaac
Benjamin (nn Benji)
Rowan
DH vetoed Hayden and Emerson and TBH I wasn't too sure of them myself, but I still sort of like them.
ETA: Here are some from my list of maybes and likes that I wouldn'
