Hello UKPF,

I run a small side gig (limited company) which does most of its business in US dollars. Currently I'm using a PayPal business account for most of the day-to-day finance, which works okay-ish. PP only allow me to do debit card transactions in GBP however which is a slight drawback, and I'm also aware that I don't have much of a safety net if PayPal decide to piss about with my cash (something something eggs in one basket).

I'm looking at opening something else, ideally a proper business bank account which will allow me to send and receive in both USD and EUR.

It's looking like Wise may be the best solution for this, but I'd be interested to hear other suggestions, and any feedb

I've started running a new website, which is being funded via donations (Patreon). All open-source, and I want the funds raised from Patreon to go into the website itself (hosting costs, comissions etc.), plus possibly some related projects.

The amount coming in currently sits just under the £1k/year threshold where I'd have to report it for taxation (afaik). But it's steadily growing and I don't want to be caught out.

I'd like some kind of separation between the organisation and myself. This means it probably needs some more formal definiton than just a PayPal account, I'm guessing. I'd also like to avoid having to count the website's incomes as my own, since that's not how the funds are

Normally I see them hovering outside the door, but today (in order to escape the bad weather I suppose) there was a teller sitting inside the polling station, in a small vestibule area before the main hall.

My question is, is that actually legal? I understood that they weren't supposed to be inside since they aren't electoral officials.
