Is there a good source for bottom bracket cable guides of different sorts? I'm mostly thinking about traditional BSA shells, but I'd like to find some that are maybe thicker, some have more cable slots than others, etc. Is there a good one-stop shop for these? I know I can go get one or two from a shop, or shim them up if needed, but I'd love to shop from a selection. I've seen all sorts on different bikes over the years.
EDIT: After your insights, I found a Hydroflask to test in my cages, it fits nicely, so I ordered one! I'm a sucker for matchy stuff, so their custom-color program was a nice touch. Thanks for all the input!
X-Bikers, I've been using my beloved Bodum travel mugs for over ten years, and it's time to replace them. I only have one working lid for the two of them, and that won't do. Here's the thing: They fit beautifully in my Ringle bottle cages and each hold about a pint of coffee, and I want to keep both of those features. The lids were also really simple, without some fancy sliding mechanism to break/jam up.
So what do you suggest for bike-ready insulated coffee cups? I thought I had f
Hi, I'm building a spreadsheet to track applicants as they move through a housing application process. There are several stages in the pipeline, and I want to view each stage one-at-a-time next to the Profile info (Name, destination, etc). I know about locking rows, and the sheet has that already, but I want to be able to click or select from a menu to see only one stage. Is there a "switch this pane" kind of function, where the section you're working on can be shown without a side-scroll?
I built a demo with fake data: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ro1eznGlyTB5p68HicaXEEHiby3NpE9ef49gHirQlTo/edit#gid=2100307022](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ro1eznGlyTB5p68HicaXE
I've got a front rack built from 11.5mm aluminum tubing. I want to bolt a headlight mount to it, but don't think drilling into it is a good idea. What I really want is some sort of clamp to grasp the tube that I can fix a mount to. The current light is a Cateye Volt, but I want to keep my options open. Is there some sort of clamshell clamp that would grasp this small tube and allow me to bolt something to it? I suspect stamped steel p-clamps like what are sometimes used to fix racks on a bike are not going to be ideal, I'd rather a hunk of aluminum for the job, or something similar.
Last year, and earlier this fall, my kid has been sent home with seedlings and other soily things. They did not fare well in the basket on my cross bike, shaking all over with even the smoothest line choices I could muster. Do y'all have any suggestions on how I can move something like that safely? I have a front basket, rear rack, and bottle cages reliably on the bike. Thanks!
Hi y'all. I'm looking for an affordable, tall raincoat. I'm 6'5 (196cm), my arms are long, and I ride a drop-bar bike. What can you suggest? I can't afford a $200 coat by any stretch, but am willing to spend more than the $40/$50 that seems to be the floor for these things.
Hi,
I've got a Specialized Pizza Rack and I'm missing the mounting plates to attach it to my fork. Specialized was no help, and I've searched the web trying to find it. It seems like something that I should be able to order for like $15 but they just don't have it as an item, even in their dealer site.
I've got a Shogun touring bike with a 24x1⅛" (ISO 547) front tire (mismatched, a la Terry cycles), but I can't find any replacement tires. Ideally I'd get a decent one, like a Panaracer Pasela, but anything may be enough.
I'm also considering swapping out the front wheel, but the cantilever brakes don't offer a huge range for wheel size. I didn't see a close match on Sheldonbrown.com, but maybe I missed something.
Thanks!
I work for a non-profit, and we're in the finishing stages of a big construction project. We'll have a bike rack outside for our clients and staff to use, but I was hoping to get some guidance on what y'all like the most for a parking rack? Like the title says, it'll be outdoors, and it'll need to be pretty robust, as our clients can get... enthusiastic at times. Thanks!
Has anyone else noticed a dearth of window wash stations at area gas stations? I think I went through three the other day trying to find one, they were all filled with ice and had no squeegees.
The only reason I've come up with (aside from cheap business owners) is when COVID hit, the denatured alcohol common in the wash mixes went up in price due to hand sanitizer production and nobody's gotten back to filling them.
