I currently carry a Maratac Tactical 1xAA (not sure which Rev) powered with Eneloops and I love this setup and have used it for about two years. What I am looking for now is a light of similar size, brightness, and function that has a more slender tube and a pocket clip so that it is easy to carry clipped in a front or back pants pocket.

What I specifically want in this future pocket EDC light:

  1. AA powered: so I can continue to use my Eneloops
  2. Clicky Tailswitch controls: so I can use the light one-handed without fail
  3. SIMPLE INTERFACE: perhaps this item puts me in the minority in this forum but I do not really want to program

This question was prompted by this picture of a Watertown, Mass. resident being evacuated from his home without even shoes on.

My first thought is: surely, you could at least get shoes. My second thought is, if you had time to dress fully, do you grab your carry rig, too? After all, a violent madman is on the loose. But if things go pear-shaped and someone sees the gun or you get searched, you might end up getting shot by jumpy, over-reactive cops, too.

The general mindset of the CCWer is always to be prepared. I like to think I'd at least slip on my pant

I posted this comment in the r/guns state politics thread but I thought I'd cross-post here:

Oregon

Today's a big day with hearings in the Oregon Senate Judiciary Committee on 4 nonsense bills restricting CHLs and requiring background checks for all transfers.

You can still submit written testimony until April 8 to this hearing. For how to submit written testimony, see [this NWFA post](http://www.northwestfirearms.com/legal-polit

More specifically, I want the grip and magazine of an M&P for ergonomics; the trigger and mag release of a PPQ (classic); and the Glock slide/barrel/internals for reliability and commonality of parts and aftermarket accessories.

The default, of course, is the Glock because its ergonomics and trigger are "good enough" and the function, reliability, and aftermarket parts are tops. Meh.

TL;DR: If wishes were horses, I would have a unicorn of a handgun.
