Hey,

at the moment, we're having big discussions at work to ask a jewish acitivist to be part of a tv discussion. Someone from the team raised the question, whether the person is actually jewish or not (which I think is not appropriate). The person said they are jewish - would you ask them to prove it? Is there any way to ask this? In my opinion it would also be completely okay if the person said, I do not want to proof it, it would also be about having asked. Because for instance, we also had instances of anti-trans-acitivists pretending to be trans.

Any answers are appreciated, also if you say this is completely inappropriate.

Hello,

I am a proud mother of four boys (they are from the same "breeder"). They are with me since one year and are approximately 14 months old.

Okay so yesterday I got home and one of them was covered in blood. One of my rats (Pierre) is a nackie, he is definitely smaller than the others and not as accepted in the group. I really thought this was super serious, because he appeared to still be bleeding.

I calmed down, separated him from the others and tried to assess his injuries. So, turns out I was not as bad as I feared. From what I can tell he was bitten on his tail and this was bleeding and he tried to clean it, which was the reason why looked as if it was coming from his mouth.

Hello,

I am currently working on a for me personally big investigative project. My station does not have an investigative unit, so I am trying to hold myself to a high standard and figuring it out.

I listened to "the daily" yesterday about the ny time's investigation in Gaza - that made me curious: are the guidelines for time's investigations public? Like what evidence is regarded conclusive, how many people have to say something that they see it as a lead?

I know about official documents, etc, but I would be very interested in informing myself more on that.

Would greatly appreciate links, not just to the time's guidelines.

Hey,

I know this is not a real problem, but if anyone has any tips and tricks on how to keep afloat even though you feel professionally and financially unappreciated, I will happily take them.

So I am well educated (two master’s degrees, one in a natural science, one in journalism, two bachelor degrees - studying is free where I am from, so I made the most out of it) and I have six years of professional experience, some of it freelance for a public broadcaster (I have decided to count those years too, I worked my ass off for severe underpayment and no rights, but I worked many hours). I definitely earn too little for that (there are databases in my country where you can look up the median

Hello,

My chicken potat is sick - it's a respiratory infection, we have been to the vet, we're getting it treated. So he gets antibiotics and vitamins now - bean boy will lick peanutbutter from my fingers, but he does not really touch his normal food (his three siblings do).

Any ideas on what else I can give him? I want him to gain some weight, he is hairless and at 300g right now, but he has definitely lost some weight in the last days.

I am thankful for any advice!

Hey,

so I have a okay-ish job as a full time writer at a news station in a small country. I write for the online news page, I used to work in radio for the public broadcasting company.

There is a lot of work, it's all about being fast and there is zero time to actually talk about things, reflect, or to ask my editor questions, which results in me being frustrated.

I got a research stipend for going to another country for a week, which my editor encouraged me and my colleagues to apply to, I got it, but no one in charge made any time to discuss things or what I am doing. It is just really frustrating because it makes me feel like it really does not matter what I do. I am encouraged to

Hey,

I hope this is the right sub to post. So, I am European and have an okay full-time position as an online journalist. What my outlet does is not local, but it's not as if they would send me to the field internationally. I used to work for the public radio prior to that, so I would call myself proficient with audio journalism too.

Any advice on how to get an international job in journalism? I did part of my masters in an English-speaking country, but I have not yet seen any job opportunities that would actually be an option. I am more than open to further my education / do additional courses / network more.

Would gladly appreciate any hints and links.

Kind Regards,

F

Hallo,

Picky Eaters

INFORMATION

Hi,

my souplings turned into really picky eaters - I tried to give them a new food mixture because it is easier to access for me (I can go to the store and buy it vs. ordering online). In any way, my rats (4 boys) do not care for it at all, I bought another type of complete food they have at my store but they are not even looking that either. I already re-ordered the old one. Any advice on how I can get them to try something new?

Hey,

I am European, my SO is American. He's currently in school, I am working in a job that is tied to my native language, it's in communications. I studied English though. So my question is: Any advice on how to tackle closing the distance in a non-stressful way?

I find myself really struggling with my SO being optimistic of closing the distance despite having any concrete plans. I feel like I am losing the perspective - I don't want to try to pressure my SO, because I want him to figure out what he wants to do in his life on his own. Any advice on how to start that conversation? I know he does not know himself what exactly he wants to do after finishing school, but I feel like I need som

hey,

me and my so have met a year ago and spent 6 months in the same place. It was wonderful and we wanted to keep on going, now we live on other sides of the world and we can see each other two times a year. It has been going well, but lately, I find myself craving physical intimacy. I absolutely want to be with him, but at the moment it is pretty unclear what he wants to do after college and that‘s gonna be decided in a bit less than a year. So no perspective on when to close the distance.

We‘ve talked about opening up our relationship, but never followed through. I think we both would not do want that if we were in the same place or saw each other more often.

So the other night, I wa

Hey,

so I live in Europe and I am a first time rat owner. I have a group of four boys and I asked for advice about mites in one of my local rat advice facebook groups. I posted a picture of my rat and the mites on its ear and yes, I got some advice, but I also got called cruel for owning a double rex rat. My others have fur. The lady I got them from turned out to be not a good breeder. But I just went through with the purchase at the time, since there were no rescues or shelters in my area and I did not know that she was a bad breeder when I first contacted her.

Any advice on how to respond to comments like that in the future? Hairless rats are very uncommon where I am from and apparently

Hey, I'm an international student and look really foreign. I was wondering - is it weird / odd to go for a run in the dark? I have some friends who advised me against doing so, and just wanted to check. I'll appreciate any advice. Mahalo!
