I have a 2026 Solterra and love it, but I do miss the size of the Outback. I heard the Trailerseeker was basically the EV Outback so I was thinking about getting one.

But after passing by a Trailseeker in person I almost mistook it for a Solterra. It does not appear to be much larger at all. Even the wheelbase is the same.

Anyone driven one? What is the difference really, besides 6 inches in the rear?

I'm one of those people that feel the Solterra is rough and noisy over bumps. Is the Trailseeker any better?

It happens after all of the vibers spend a year on expensive subscriptions for codex/claude, building speculative apps, and then finally launch but find no customers - then cancel their Pro subscriptions and go back to regular life.

Is it coming soon? Is the vibubble about to burst? Is it already happening?

First EV. Love it so far. (except for the headlights appearing to flicker as I go over bumps at night? what is that?)

I know driving fast will gobble up electrons, but I really prefer driving 80 MPH when conditions allow. I can do that, right? Solty won't suffer, will it?

Anyone calculated what effect 80 has on the miles/kwh consumed? I'm guessing it would drop to around 3.0mi / kwh.

5.2 high still regularly astounds me with it's thoroughness.

No matter how I prompt 5.4, and how many guards rails and "only do what you're told" instructions, it is always over confident and makes plans full of holes.

I asked 5.4 to create a plan for a very specific and sensitive feature. It confidently gave me a plan. I fed it back into 5.2 and 5.2 was like bruh, this plan is horrible and ignores the actual code reality of the repo.

Anyone with similar experience? Any solution? I want to like 5.4 because it's fast, but it reminds me exactly of opus and Gemini. Confidently wrong.

5.4 and 5.3 codex are equally dangerous in my experience.

It's designed to be an 'invisible' video converter. Desktop gui that allows drag and drop, presets, etc. Behind the scenes the video is uploaded, converted, downloaded back to your computer, but it 'feels' like a local converter.

I built it as a proof of concept, but I'm curious if there is any interest here for a product like that. It will run on windows/mac/linux and looks like a native app.

The L4 will convert faster than any desktop processor afaik. The only bottleneck is upload/download speed.

Hi,

If there is a domestic fire, like a kitchen fire, 1) are police automatically called to the scene? and 2) do you take statements from witnesses and/or the occupants of the dwelling?

If so, what if something seemed off about the person who started (assumed accidental) the fire? Like they seemed spaced out or intoxicated? Or just gave you pause? What would you do next? Toxicology?

What would make you say to yourself "This person is clearly a danger to themselves and others"?

And what would make you think the person possibly started the fire intentionally? If you thought it was intentional, would you arrest them on the spot or need to open an investigation?

Answering any or all of thos

I've googled the ef out of this and found no one else mention it. It's very annoying.

Every time the UV LED's come on (while curing each layer) there is a very high pitched noise, like an old tube TV but louder. It's actually very close to the pitch of my tinnitus (lol?).

I've only had the printer for 2 days but man, this sound is grating. Does this sound like a faulty LED array? Or is that just what the pro sounds like?

EDIT:

After opening the unit I've tracked down where I believe the noise is coming from - it's so high pitched it's hard to tell exactly where it is. Maybe this will help others.

Ballpark rate for a freelancer?

Question / Discussion

I'm in Alan McKay's Live Action Series and have taken a Houdini course at cgma but don't even yet have any finished demo reel pieces. Im a long time 3d artist and even though destruction and atmospheric FX are pretty complex I'm fairly confident I can do well at them with enough practice.

I currently make $50/hr as a 3d artist, but I'm clueless on what I can 'expect' to make if i were hired as a freelancer to do destruction or explosions (commercials, tv, or film). Fresh out of school, 2 years experience, 2-5 years. Whatever.

I know this is a broad question, but ball park figures anyone? Much appreciated!
