What would you to make sure both factions show up for world pvp events and to prevent things from becoming lop sided?

When one faction becomes too dominant, the other faction starts to show up less and less to world pvp events and eventually its a PvE zone. What would be your possible solution to a server where one of the factions shows up less and less to a zone with world pvp events (like ashenvale)?

Perhaps a stacking buff / debuff that increases week by week?

If faction A has a greater than 75% win rate at the end of the day

Faction B +1% pvp damage +1% pvp damage reduction

If the win rate becomes equal Faction B -1% pvp damage -1% pvp damage reduction until back to 0%

Less RNG and guaranteed progress. Its that simple. Wow players will always choose the path where they can either 1) make guaranteed progress 2) have less RNG

If you give wow players 2 options,

1. A single layer of RNG where you can increase the likelihood of winning the item you want every time you play (as you get more and more gold)

OR

2. You must win 2 RNG rolls in a row 1) first the item needs to drop 2) you need to win a against several other players, you also make no progress on getting closer to that item you want as there are new players who you pug with all the time and new players may come in and win the roll over you.

The vast majority of wow players will chose option 1)

Anyone with a private equity background on the board of directors needs to be fired. Getting a few great quarters of returns at the expensive of blowing up the company is their forte.

Hey everyone this basically wasted my weekend going down this rabbit hole so I figure I would post here to let others know and hopefully, I save someone else's time.

Do not host an Icarus server on a Linux-based host! The game becomes very unstable and will crash every hour or so.

Steps to reproduce

1. Setup Icarus server on a Linux-based host
2. Start an open-world prospect and play on it for a couple of days.
3. After a few days the server will start to regularly crash with the following error:
   LogWindows: Error: Ran out of memory allocating 102400 bytes with alignment 0
   The Icarus server will think its running OOM and crash itself.
