Hi all, I'm trying sumo DLs for the first time and have no idea what I'm doing. The weight is light but I figured I'd troubleshoot whatever glaring issues there are right now and then maybe post another form check if necessary when the weight gets heavy. Should my knees be more pushed out than this? Thanks in advance. This is I believe my 6th set at 110 lbs. Also, the video didn't capture it, but after I was done my son got up, applauded, and said "Yay you did it!" lol. I have my own cheering squad.

So someone sent me a text and after a couple hours, I texted back and immediately blocked them. They have a Samsung and I have an iPhone. The text I sent doesn't have the word delivered under it. So that means they never got my last text? And if so why, would it be because I blocked them or because they blocked me first? Or maybe because I blocked them before the text went through?

So my 5 year old son has developed over the past several months this habit of sniffling when he wakes up during the night. He's not sick, he doesn't even have a stuffy nose, he just does it. He wakes up several times and the apartment is quiet enough and his sniffs are loud enough that it wakes me up every time he does it and I can't go to sleep until he stops. It will be like one sniffle per every two seconds for about 5 minutes. This is driving me crazy, does anybody know what can cause this and how to stop it? I've tried giving him one of those wedge pillow things that elevate your head when you sleep but that hasn't worked. Maybe it's a humidity thing? Any ideas? I'm lost

Hi, could I get a form check please for my squat? 75 lbs x 5, second set. I'm 5'4, 111 lbs. I took several months off from the gym and got back into it a few weeks ago, starting with stronglifts to reestablish the gym habit and sort of grease the groove with the main lifts while I work my way up to my previous weights. I wanted to get a form check on my squat since it doesn't feel right, it's never felt right, and I want to fix it before things start getting serious again. I try using the cue to sit down between my legs but my body just doesn't want to do that, not sure what to do about that. I've also tried widening my stance wh

Title says it all. My girlfriend would rather get shot in the head than wear a dress, so I'm trying to find a restaurant where we could wear jeans without feeling too dressed down, but still feels like more than the typical night out. I found something we could do from last year at Rising Tide where they give you some drinks and a chocolate, and if they're doing it again this year I'll definitely sign up, but we need something to eat. Any ideas?

Hi guys, I started bicycle commuting this summer and love it. However I'm starting to worry about the winter. Are there any winter cyclists here, and what do you do for the winter? Do you think the winters here are rough enough to get an entirely different bike, or could I just put some snow tires on? I live on the peninsula so most of my rides will be done there or along Brighton Ave which is the route I take to work. It's only 2 or 3 miles one way, so I'm thinking it shouldn't be too hard. How do you deal with some of the steeper hills? Anything else I should be thinking about? Just looking for some tips from more experienced riders in the area to make the first winter a little less rough

I'm looking to buy a toy and not sure where to go. All I see are what look like super high end places in the Old Port that look like they're going to be pretty expensive. The other place I know about is on Congress St and the windows are blacked out. I'm a little nervous about walking in there although I will go if somebody has had a good experience there. Any suggestions or anything else I should know about?

Hi, I wanted to post a form check for my bench to try and figure out what exactly I should do to improve. Benching has always felt super weird to me and the whole lift just feels sloppy. I've just started really focusing on trying to increase the weight on my big 3 lifts, but with this one I've been afraid to go up in weight because I have a hard time controlling the bar path even though the weight doesn't feel particularly heavy. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

Hi, I'm cross posting from r/xxfitness because the more advice the better. I've been feeling like my form has been getting worse as I go up in weight on deadlifts. In particular I feel like I round my lower back, it never hurts or anything but I'd like to check to see if I'm doing anything dangerous before I hurt myself rather than wait until after. This is my third set at 155 lbs.

PS, sorry for the terrible quality! The other videos I tried taking were even worse so this is all I've got. I hope you can still see it, if not let me know and I'll try to redo it when it's darker

Hi guys, I recently started doing lunges and as it turns out, I can do the same amount of weight on those as I can for regular old back squats (85 lbs for 10 reps). Which is weird. So I videotaped myself doing both, picked my messiest sets, and uploaded them to see if anyone could see anything wrong with what I'm doing. I assume either my squat form is horrible or I'm cheating somehow on my lunges. Also if anybody has any suggestions for my forward lean during squats, since I've done everything I can think of (sitting back, sitting down, bracing my core, tightening my back, working on ankle mobility and using plates) and I still lean. It feels right when I squat though. I'm using mostly my g

Hi there, I work the second shift sometimes and am having an extremely difficult time finding childcare in the Portland area. Budget is limited so I need to find someone who charges per week, not per hour. For reference, I make $11.25 an hour so I can't really hire someone asking for $15 an hour like many do. I've been checking craigslist and there just aren't too many in home daycares advertising right now. Anyone know of anyone or of any centers that are affordable and are open beyond the usual 7-5?

Hi, I was looking at the different programs in the wiki and I saw a couple that looked good. However my gym doesn't really have any machines except a lat pulldown machine and the programs I was looking at involve leg presses, leg curls, and leg extensions. What should I replace leg presses with? I figured for the leg curls/leg extensions I could use dumbbells, but I'm open to other suggestions. Or if maybe I should just consider another program, but I've been on SL and getting really bored. Thanks guys!

Hi, I posted a form check maybe a week ago and found out that I have tight ankles which were turning my squats into good mornings. I've been working on my flexibility and in the meantime have been squatting with 5 lb plates under my heels. I still feel like I lean too far forward and could go lower, but it does feel a million times better! I'm not sure what to do to improve though. Here's the best video:

And here's kind of a crappy video but you can see my feet if you need to see that. It sort of looks like I could spread my knees out farther than I am and I'd like to hear what you have to say. As always, thanks guys!
