I'm bored, and wondering about accents. I'm interested to hear recordings of reddit users speaking the following text:
" Please call Stella. Ask her to bring these things with her from the store: Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station. "
This is my recording (http://vocaroo.com/?media=vw30J3ascNYRNYaLI)
The text comes from the speech accent archive from George Mason University.
I've always been puzzled by these apparently standard behaviours in Windows 98SE, 2000, and XP (not tested on others):
-
When spinning up a CD, almost everything appears to pause/hang/lock up.
-
USB device drivers are loaded per-port, with drivers taking ages to "detect" when plugged into a "new" port, and multiple copies of a driver appearing in the device manager for each port the device was plugged into.
why is.... those things?
You've reached the end of this feed.
