This character is almost certainly a reference to fantastic audiobook narrator (and long time Stephen King and John Grisham reader) Frank Muller, whose career was tragically cut short by a 2001 motorcycle accident that eventually took his life (after which he won both the 2002 and 2003 Audie Awards for best male narrator despite no longer working, because he was that damn good).
While you're waiting around for Craig Alanson and RC Bray to continue delivering the magnificence that we all crave in January, I highly recommend looking up some of Frank's work. His versions of Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption or The Talisman, both by Stephen King, are a good place to start.

Team Shuster finished dead last in the 2010 Olympic curling round robin with a record of of 2-7
Team Shuster finished 2nd to last in Sochi 2014, again with a record of 2-7.
During both Olympics, Shuster was widely referred to online under the unflattering nickname "Fat Hat" and disparaged as being a choker.
But Shuster rose above it and made clutch shot after clutch shot in 2018, including an unbelievable 5 point 8th end in the gold medal match.
What a story of resilience and persistence.
