I’m 28F and very much ashamed of my poor financial decisions throughout my 20s. Do not be like me.
If you’re in your early 20s and thinking about getting a bunch of store credit cards before you even graduate, don’t. It’s not worth it. I don’t care if you want the nicest clothes and accessories. Wait until you’ve earned that money. Don’t just irresponsibly swipe like it’s your money. Learn about interest. Learn how to budget as early as possible.
When I graduated at 21 I told myself I’d pay off my credit cards in the first year when I got my first full time job. Yeah, that didn’t happen. Instead I got a couple more cards and before I knew it, I maxed those out too. I could have gotten ser
I have a little under $10k to go and I plan to have it wiped out by this fall. I have relapsed a few times, but I’m still steadily paying off my debt. My husband is so disappointed in me because of the relapse. He’s also helped me with a couple thousand or so, and I really have no excuse other than I just wanted to buy something. But that something always turns into more! When I pay off a chunk, I want to shop and “treat myself” with something. I hate myself for it.
I am still sticking to my plan though. I could’ve been done by summer if I was more aggressive with it. I should feel proud of myself for how far I’ve gotten but tonight I just feel ashamed. We could be so much further along in
I am so sorry but I’m putting a flair on this because I feel like I need to describe what happened and it has sensitive details. I can’t stop thinking about this. I feel like I’m going a little crazy. Is this just part of the grieving process? He was my soul cat and no other pet death has affected me this badly.
My cat was dying of a couple of terminal illnesses in his final days and the vet even said he probably had weeks left but I was in denial thinking he could miraculously get better with the medications. Right before he died he was hiding in weird spots throughout the house and losing weight, barely eating and finally, he started going to the bathroom on the floor. That’s when I knew
I know it’s so common to feel guilty because you think you’re putting them to sleep too soon. But I would like to provide the other perspective. I did not euthanize my cat Otis when I should have. And I am struggling with the guilt. He died on Easter Monday when I was at work and I had been in and out of the house all weekend due to visiting family.
He was a stray when we found him a couple of years ago and he brought us so much joy in my husband and I’s first home. Recently he had been sick and declining for a couple of weeks from FeLV, anemia, FIP that returned, and new mast cell tumors. I was in so much denial thinking that with all vet visits/surgery, medication and supplements and trea
This is long and sad, so just a trigger warning. We left for Easter weekend to visit family. I wish I stayed home with him. I will never forgive myself. Maybe I should have put him to sleep sooner. But I kept hoping and hoping that he would get better.
Our cat Otis was a stray that we took in a little over two years ago and he was diagnosed with FIP, FeLV and most recently, mast cell tumors on his skin.
The first couple months that we first homed him, he played and acted mostly normal but was always a bit tired. We were renovating a house so I wasn’t as proactive in the beginning but once we took him to get neutered and his vaccinations, he became very sick with what we learned was FIP.
Probates have all sorts of documents to send out to heirs and such. I’m struggling to keep up with it even with a to-do list, because we’re an understaffed and busy estate planning firm and I get pulled in a million different directions. I do enjoy who I work with and want to do a good job. I also get great feedback too but sometimes I’ll forget to send out documents to the people listed on the certificate of service until later. It’s not super often, but I don’t want to cause a bigger issue with the court if someone didn’t get a copy of the petition or something. The attorney I work for is super patient but I don’t want to keep screwing it up!
I know I did everything I could for him once I found out he was sick but I still wish I did more. I wish I could’ve noticed the signs earlier because maybe I could’ve got him treated quicker. He was a stray before we took him in and is the sweetest cat I’ve ever known. And he’s so young, barely 3 years old.
But this poor guy has a slew of health issues. FeLV, FIP for the second time that we are treating daily for, a malignant mast cell tumor that has been surgically removed from his ear that is struggling to heal, anemia and thyroid issues. The vet said it’s hard to say as far as a timeline goes, but to watch for signs that his quality of life is dwindling. He is still walking around, jumpi
My cat had a small tumor removed underneath his right ear. He started scratching at it today while I was at work and now the incision site is open. I should’ve put a cone on him immediately after surgery but I didn’t see him start scratching until now.
We’re going to call the vet first thing tomorrow morning. What can I do right now to clean it up? I have a povidone iodine solution and some bandages for first aid. Can I cleanse the area with that and wrap it? I’m also going to get a cone for the time being.
I’m just not sure what to do. I’ve been at my current firm for a little over 2 years with about 8 years of experience being a paralegal. It’s been a long road to get here. I finally feel comfortable and confident with what I’m doing and we all get along so well. I’ve worked in toxic places before and I feel so lucky right now to be able to work with the nicest coworkers and attorneys so far. I can also take time off pretty easily, so I can travel a bit with my husband’s family. I’d really miss working here for those reasons.
But I have some issues. I’m in a smaller Midwest town, and my pay isn’t bad, but I’m starting to wish it was more. There aren’t many higher paying opportunities surr
Two nights ago, on the last night of vacation, I swam in the ocean and i’m positive I got water in my ears and up my nose—mostly my left ear. Like, the wave basically smacked me on the left side of my face. The next day I woke up feeling like I had a very mild head cold.
I flew home yesterday night on two planes and each time they descended it was excruciating pressure in both ears. I thought I was going to explode. For the second flight, I wore earplanes and took a decongestant but it didn’t help much. Once I landed I started hearing popping noises as I tried to pop my ears but I still feel the pressure.
I went to urgent care today on my lunch break because I still felt pressure building
