Hi everyone,

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to drawing. I can barely draw a straight lines and general sketches, but I've finally decided to learn because creating art has always been something I've felt missing (I used to do a lot of projects around art in High school a million years ago).

I also recently joined a local beginner drawing course (starting this Friday), although it focuses on traditional drawing rather than digital art. I'm hoping it will help me build the fundamentals while I learn the digital side separately. I have purchased a XPPen Deco 01 V3 arriving next week.

My long-term goal isn't to become a professional illustrator or work in a studio. I'm already a softw

Hello fellow devs, I wanted to ask for your advice, I've been working on many prototypes and finally found one that I think is worth diving into production for. My goal is not to become rich but to slowly transition to full time game dev.

Here is the catch: doing some concept art for the visual part (I've already battle tested the mechanic part to validate the fantasy and fun of the loop) I noticed that instead of pixel art my game would benefit from a HD 2D drawings similar to Slay the Spire or Darkest Dungeon.

My question is:
What's the best drawing software and tools I could use?

What software should I use to animate should I try Spine, should I make animations in frames inste

Hello there! I'm an indie game dev and would like to move my workflow from my monster pc that consumes a lot of power at idle (basically go greener), to something more power-efficient in terms of idle states. I need to do light coding/gaming in Godot 4 for 2D projects. If I can run some light 3D games, that would be a plus for sure, there are just too many options that's why I need a little help here! My budget goes from $200 to $400.

I build my own PC's all the time; however, this is my first time with Minis, so I would like input from someone who has already tested one hands-on, especially when it comes to power consumption, being on all day long, and not failing on me in a couple of mont

Hello there, I'm hooked into the world of 40K, I'll be honest, at first I thought the books were going to be super boring, but it's the opposite. I even think this is more fun than "Sci Fi best sellers" I've read in the past, and I can't stop now. I'm currently finishing Krieg by Steve Lyons and starting Vaults of Terra: The Carrion Throne by Chris Wraight. Anyways, I'm a game dev and I have an idea for a video game of mine (Indie) that I would like to explore, and it has to do with the industrial and logistic chain:

TLDR> Are there any books that talk deeper into logistics or manufacturing/distribution of ammo, guns, etc within the empire? I searched, and I think these might work?:

Hey guys, I'm about to take the plunge, buy the hardware and get an unraid license, my plan is to 3D print a case that supports ITX and 6 HD bays, plus 3 SSD.

My main question is what CPU-Mobo combo should I get if I want to be as power-efficient as possible? Here are my plans:

  • Plex media server for 2 streams at the time max.
  • General backup server with:
    • 2x 8TB HDD
    • 3x 1TB SSD
    • 1x 1TB M.2 SSD

I have been researching for days on CPUs but I really want to save money on hardware and electric bills.

PS: I like to build my own stuff so that's why I'm even printing the case.

TLDR: Give me your best ITX mobo + CPU combo that saves energy.

Hey guys, I got an A1 a while back and have been using it with only PLA, I got a 0.4 nozzle and a bed for PETG that was part of the combo during Christmas. My question is, should I have any sort of special care on anything, or just swap the nozzle, filament, be,d and hit print? Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm working on a small cozy fishing game, I wonder if you would enjoy having different seasons in the game island at the same time (biomes), or have 1 season fixed at a time. I truly appreciate your responses.

Hello! I'm starting in Blender, and I would like to create 3D environments for 2.5D pixel art prototypes I have. My main question is what I should be using (workflow). I noticed plugins online like Pribambase, Sprytile, and others, but really, what would be your best advice to create pixel art worlds in Blender and not die trying?

Thanks for reading.

PS: I'm a game developer using Godot. I have some experience with other editors like Blockbench and Crocotile, but I want to find the right workflow/plugin/tool for pixel art using Blender so I can do full 3D projects using Blender in the future.

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for a new resin printer in the ~$300 range and would love some recommendations (ideally purchasable at Amazon). My current printer is an Anycubic Photon Mono 4K, but the screen broke, and replacing it in my current Country is almost as expensive as getting a new printer.

Since I’m upgrading, I’d like something that’s easier to use in terms of:

  • WiFi connectivity (less hassle transferring files)
  • Auto or easier bed leveling
  • Less maintenance overall or at least cheaper replacement parts like screen, VAT etc.

I mostly print miniatures for painting so a good balance between print quality and ease of use is my priority.

Hello, do you know any good STL creators who resemble the look of the official Northstar figures?

I live offshore and shipping became extra expensive, so I was looking to print some, I just can't find the "crew look" of the originals, I know this is miniature agnostic but I really would like to have some similarities.

PS: I usually find creators that put a lot of armor and soldier type miniatures out, but not so much casual crew look.

Best.

Hey guys, so UPS gave my Filaments to some random person, saying it was me. The good thing is that I did get the printer (A1). Can you guys please recommend a good filament PLA and PETG that I can order from Amazon? I have the default nozzle and ordered a 0.6mm, too, that was lost in transit.

I've seen many posts about filament but I really need hands-on experience since I need to ship them from the USA to my country and that costs me extra.

Thanks!

Hello there I'm working on a space game in 3D that is not so distant from Starsector vibe, however as an indie game dev I would love to hear what you love and don't like about space games or Starsector in particular maybe you can just type:

What do you love about the game?
Something the game has but you have no interest in it?
What is it that could be better?

Thanks, this will help a small indie dev a lot and also maybe modders to create some mods for the game.

thanks for your time!
