“[worms] they live without any ability to see or even know about light, right? The notion of light to them is unimaginable. We humans, we know that light exists all around them, right on top of them. They cannot sense it but with a little mutation they do. Perhaps some humans - rare humans - have mutated to have another sense. A spirite sense. And can perceive a world that is right on top of us.“ It felt very connected to the themes of the oa. I also just really find this idea beautiful and thought you guys would appreciate it.

I enjoy learning new things, and I enjoy the imagination of others, however, I can't help but wonder/question if the labyrinth really exists or if it's a sort of immersive experiment, the aim being to answer/demonstrate; 'How deeply do humans need to create meaning where there is none' type thing.

edit: Either way, listen to this Father Jon Misty video then think about how beautifully unknowable the actual world is

I've tried to only include things I don't think have been mentioned mainly or maybe haven't been addressed fully;

  • Lights switched on inside when it's still light. Specifically horrible old dated lampshades. We see it next to Praire when she's questioned by the FBI and we see another by Steve's Mom's head in the living room.Then in Russia, it's a lampshade with two bulbs in the school, and a red one in the brothel. In public buildings, it's a row of lights. I know lighting is important, but the lights stand out for me. There's the phrase 'follow the lights' which comes up a lot on twitter and instagram, which seems to relate to th

I've been rewatching the OA and thanks to reddit I've begun to explore ideas I hadn't even considered before.

I want to share my thoughts but I'm worried about unpacking too much stuff. So I thought I'd start with my theory (that we are seeing the OA repeating a timeline again and again in the 'present' world) and how I've found this through clues in the script, the audio description someone suggested using, as well as mind-blowing posts by people on here about inconsistencies or glitches in scenery.

How the Discovery fits in

To start off with I think the OA's experience is actually linked to the Di

I'm a massive fan of Apatow's work but... is Judd Apatow afraid of black people? Or even just anyone who isn't white? (yes that is a hyperbolic statement, welcome to reddit)

I don't think he's particularly racist or a xenophobe but what world does he live in? I love that his work is entirely personal but with that in mind, I have to conclude that he seems to have managed to avoid anyone who doesn't maintain an image or experience of America he must have grown up with. Am I wrong to think this? I don't want to upset anyone but it's a bit weird right?

I tried to think back to any main characters in Love who were outside of that bubble or in any of his other programmes and can't think of on

The music on this show is something else; Rostam, Sharon van Etten, Beach House, the violin theme. Thought I'd follow suit from the book recommendation post and ask does anyone have any music suggestions? I'm literally all ears

I've started writing posts on my blog about how some of the symbolism and imagery on the show seems to be inspired by tarot but I thought I'd share on here my favourite discovery about Scott which sparked the whole idea. I think it's an interesting alternative to the Jesus and lazarus imagery theory and also clears up why it takes place and how it's related to his actions.

I'm just going to post the text from my original post which is below. Click on the link to see the images side by side too

I posted this earlier on my blog but I wondered if anyone agreed...

At the beginning of episode 2, we’re plunged straight into Prairie’s lesson on snakes. The scene moves quickly meaning a lot of the dialogue can be lost but one that stands out quite firmly is the beautiful line about the snake’s heart when Prairie says:

“I hear your heart beating, don’t be afraid, I know you are a good snake"

Along with the 5 glass tanks, the similarities between the scene and her later involvement with Hap is clear, but the similarities seem to be embedded in every line of this scene and almost go through the whole episode for us in less than 5 mins. I thought I’d go through these lines to show where
