Anyone know of a plugin that can give the 'artifacty' sound you get from time stretching, but without actually changing the speed of a sound sample? Is there any creative way to get those artifacts without manipulating the speed/time stretching?

Anyone have any clue how to fix corrupted wav files from a Pro Tools session? I believe it has something to do with rebuilding the header of the wav file. I have 5 sessions of recordings all full of suddenly corrupted audio files. These files still appear in the audio files folder within the session folders, and appear to still have all the information there in the file size, but can't be opened by Pro Tools properly. They appear as scrambled white noise and glitching sounds, and Pro Tools says they appear corrupted when I try to reopen the sessions.
Any ideas would be much appreciated, thanks
This problem just started occurring a few days ago, and I believe I narrowed down what the source of the issue is, but I am wondering what is causing it and how I can fix it. My laptop completely freezes and requires forced shutdown when it is not connected to an external monitor via HDMI. I am also getting occasional blue screen crashes when not connected to an external monitor. Every time I reboot it it freezes or crashes again within a minute or so. When it is connected it works perfectly.
I have installed all the up to date drivers and windows updates, and reset the bios to the default settings, but that didn’t seem to help.
Any idea why this might have just started happening and how
Anyone have a diagram / parts list for a good low noise 48v phantom power supply? Want to build a couple in stompboxes with XLR in/outs to power condenser mics into my tascam m312 mixer.
thanks!
Anyone ever done this? trying to mount ~1.5x4 ft 3in thick rockwool panels to metal and brick wall surfaces and I’m not sure the best way to do this without drilling, which is not an option. I’d like to keep a few inches of space between the walls and the rockwool ideally. I was thinking maybe some sort of lightweight (plastic, foam ?) spacers glued to the back of the panel and attached with adhesive velcro to the walls. haven’t actually got my hands on the rockwool yet though so I’m not sure how heavy or flimsy it is. any ideas?
thanks

From Feist’s instagram. Looks like there’s an sm58 positioned in front of the pop filter with another condenser behind the pop filter, and then is that a third mic a couple of feet back? Never seen something like this... curious what the purpose is or if anyone is familiar with this technique.

Lately my process is to keep individual track below around -6 db, and I have been utilizing lots of busses. For example a drum bus with all of my drums and percussion, and a music bus with all musical tracks. Then a vocal bus as well. These all get sent to a mix bus, which I compress and then use make up gain to push the mix into a limiter. Even though my individual tracks + busses are down between -9 and -6, the mix bus adds up and peaks a lot closer to zero (before the compression+limiting I mean).
Does this mean I am not getting the full amount of headroom I could be taking advantage of? Should the mix bus ideally be peaking closer to the peaks of the individual tracks/busses, so I can g
I live in a smallish apartment complex and produce in my room. I use 5 inch monitors and usually have the volume at a decent level. not crazy loud but sometimes enough to apparently cause it to be heard in surrounding apartments. cause some ass called 12.
does anyone have any fairly cheap and DIY ways to efficiently reduce the bleeding?? Im also gonna work at lower volumes now and pay more attention to how loud i get... lol
thanks
