American Experience on PBS is currently airing "Mr. Polaroid", a documentary about the birth of Polaroid and its creator, Edwin Land. I thought some of the folks here might be interested in the development of this most iconic camera.

B&H has the gold Macbook Air M1 with 16gb ram and 1tb storage on special today for $1199. If you've been looking at jumping to Apple silicon this is a great price for a loaded M1.

Edit - B&H is an Apple authorized reseller, this is new with Apple warranty (just in case you're not familiar). I don't work for B&H and have no connection other than being a customer.
I'm looking at an 09 Fit this weekend. Around 58000 miles on the odometer. Looking up the VIN it's got recalls for airbag inflator and axle, so I'm aware of that much.
There also appears to be a TSB for valve springs, anybody know if a dealer will still check/honor that?
Any advice on what else to check? It's the Sport with the automatic, looks all stock in the pictures. I really need reliable transport and I like the Fit (a friend had one), this one is in my budget.
Thanks for any info!
I was watching some military history tiktoks the other day and came across one detailing the recoilless rifles of World War II. If you're not familiar, basically it's a MASSIVE caliber rifle designed in such a way that the gasses from firing are shunted out the back of the weapon, cancelling the recoil. This means that a single infantryman (or pair, usually there's a loader) can effectively counter many armored vehicles. You can see a modern version in the link below:

Now, I don't think the technology itself would be that surprising to extraterrestial intelligence. Odds are some form of kinetic
A friend sent me this as an art prompt, but I looked it over I realized several could make excellent campy horror/scifi (or serious horror/scifi) prompts. I especially like #19 - "The Worm that Ate Chicago".

Just a fun list and a reminder that you never know where inspiration may strike!
Humans look at death differently than their allies. It is a subject of utter solemnity for the allies, not broached going into training or battle lest it induce panic.
Humans, on the other hand...

Edit: Oops, thought there'd be a preview. Video is the song and lyrics for "Blood on the Risers", lyrics linked here: [https://web.archive.org/web/20120425083050/http://www.menofeasycompany.com/home/index.php?page_id=152](https://web.archive.org/web/20120425083050/http://www.menofeasycompany.c

Today marks the 95th anniversary of the first article, with photos, detailing the events of that weekend in the Memphis News-Scimitar. A shorter version of the article was released to a news service with one photo, and picked up by papers around the world. The lynching was mentioned in Congress when anti-lynching legislation was proposed. The legislation failed, as it would for decades. A few articles and papers continued to be published in the ensuing decades. The New Albany
Pretty good deal. The G7, two kit lenses (standard and tele), external mic, and a few other bits for $500. Add the 50mm for $150 and you'll have a great little starter kit.

Seems like a good price. Functionally the Samson is very similar to the Audio Technica 2005, dynamic mic with an onboard USB interface as well as XLR.
I have one of the AT mics I used to start a podcast and for voice overs for my own videos. I upgraded to a mxl condenser but I've kept the AT mic as a backup and I use it on the road since it's easy to travel with and isn't as sensitive to hotel room air conditione
