Totally random topic, but does anyone have some “Arizona Horror Stories” to share? I’m just bored and want to discuss. For example, my friend in high school was obsessed with going to the “Calle Lejos house” in Peoria after he heard a man took the lives of his wife and children and hid them in the basement for years before he was caught. The place was ransacked and very eerie. Curious to hear other stories.

Like the title asks… why isn’t there a Wikipedia entry for the upcoming ceremony yet? I feel like there should be one already. In my experience, they usually have it up by this point in the awards season.

Do you guys think it’s allowed for us to buy a hot food display case for us to store our deli items in our back rooms? Wait times be damned when someone has a chicken in their order and you have to run to the clear other end of the store to grab it 😂 just wondering peoples opinions on the matter.

I wish caffeine free regular dr. Pepper was more of a thing. I know it existed in 2L form at some point. I just wish it came in like a 12 pack or minis. I do love the Dr Pepper flavor but I rarely have times where I can drink it bc I cut myself off from caffeine after 12pm. I wish they would make caffeine free regular a mainstay like Coke has done with its caffeine free regular option.

It would be smart to not require a printer when assigning someone almost late picks. Obviously no store has a surplus of printers to pass around, and it would make things way easier on the leads and coach to assign picks and then have said assign picks print out the labels automatically like any other pick walk. I could help knock out a lot of almost late picks if I didn’t need to go grab a printer first. The folks at home office that lurk in this sub should consider tinkering with that.

The deli has their oil tank and this little portable oil tank thing next to it in our OPD backroom (it’s a shared space at our store). Someone comes to change this deli thing daily, yet it still smells putrid almost all the time… it smells like someone missed the restroom and just pooped in the corner. Makes me disgusted to even think about eating anything from the deli after having to smell that thing. I know the deli lead doesn’t care how bad it smells bc they hate OPD, so I asked an associate over there “is there really nothing you can do about the smell of this thing?” And that associate just shrugged and told me no. Random question but what’s the oldest Oscar ceremony in which all 4 acting winners are still living? Wondering if it would be recent or decades back. I just randomly browsed through 2007’s supporting actor category and noticed 3 of the 5 nominees have since passed away which surprised me since that was super long ago. Brownie points to whoever can find out!

I park off to the side of the wet wall when I do chilled. Next to a section of ambient produce tables. There’s about a 2-3 cart-wide gap between that and the wall that I leave open to be courteous so the customers don’t bitch and moan that I’m blocking their way.

It happens in other areas too, but particularly at this one spot, people will stop their cart directly in front of my pick cart (sticker side facing out) as they go to grab one or more items from the wall like I am trying to do.

The first few times, I was confused why they would choose to park there, and would try to be nice and announce that I was moving their cart to access my workstation. But then it just… kept happening. Anyw

What Great Value/Equate/Mainstay (all store brands) product are you surprised you haven’t seen yet? Just saw a meme about the price of deodorants and thought to myself it’s weird Equate hasn’t made that yet. At least not at my store. Just a random fun little question.

Remember those strange few months right before COVID upended everything? Nestled in there was a period where people were ramping up excitement for J-Lo of all people to get an Oscar nomination for a sexy crime drama where aside from some sexy pole dancing, she admittedly doesn’t do much that we haven’t seen from her before.

People raved about that performance and film. I thought both were just okay. But people were very shocked when she didn’t get nominated for the Oscar. Are we all surprised? It’s J-Lo. I’d be interested to see Todd cover this dude’s self titled album on Trainwreckords some day. I haven’t heard it’s only single “28,000 Friends” yet, but something about how this dude was popular enough to almost win The X Factor but then shortly after his debut album to become such a monumental failure that it got him dropped from his label and scared him from making another album ever since. I think there’s an interesting tale to be told in there.

Just got back from seeing it. One of the worst audiences I’ve had to sit through a movie with in quite some time. An old couple in the back row clomped up and down the stairs several times throughout the movie before finally leaving a minute before the film ended. A couple a few seats over made a bunch of noise and I could hear frequent kissing so I pulled my hoodie over so they weren’t in my peripheral anymore lol. A man in the row in front of me chomped loudly on popcorn throughout the whole thing. And finally a woman 2 rows down loudly gave her opinion anytime something gory happened. It’s a lazy day off from work so I scoured Tubi for something mindless to watch. Turned on Human Centipede 3. My friend showed me the first 2 way back in the day. Those weren’t good either but intriguing. This one is only 45 mins in and it’s a transcendently awful film. 🤣

Dieter Laser (RIP) is busy giving one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen in a horror film. Just unintelligibly screeching every line in his thick German accent.

If anyone’s seen a worse performance in a horror film, lmk! 😂
