Today I pulled down some loose join tape between garage's interior wall and ceiling. By interior wall I mean this wall is between garage and a bedroom, it has attic space then roof above but is not directly connected to the exterior.
I noticed a lot of black droppings behind the tape and at the ceiling crack, so I assume there's a lot more on top of the ceiling sheetrock.
Are they just debris and dried adhesive? Or are they something I should be more cautious of, such as the scat of a type of termite or pest (perhaps mice)?
My current plan is to apply new paper joint tape and mud on top of it, is this the best action to take? Thanks in advance

Fits suit size 3638. Great quality 100% herringbone wool double-breasted topcoat from LEC, brand new never washed, only tried on at home. Great for layering and it's quite warm by itself, can stand 2030F cold snowing winter. A very handsome coat for business casual wardrobe.
Bought it about a month ago for $149 (MSRP $249), I messed up the receipt now I can't return it. Asking for $89, for a garment of this quality and design I think it's a very fair price (this topcoat is discontinued due to LEC being merged into Land's End main brand). Feel free to PM me for further detai
